MissingChild – Massive Search Continues for Toddler Missing From Andhra Village

MissingChild – Authorities have expanded efforts to locate a two-year-old girl who disappeared from a village in Andhra Pradesh’s Tuni Rural mandal, with multiple government agencies and local residents taking part in the ongoing search operation.

The child, identified as Sunkara Gnaneswari, has been missing since Saturday afternoon from Ch Agraharam village. Despite continuous searches over the past several days, officials have not yet been able to determine her whereabouts.

Search Teams Expanded Across the Area

On Monday, a 40-member team from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) joined the operation to strengthen the search effort. Personnel from the police, revenue, fire services, and forest departments are also working together to cover a wide area surrounding the village.

Officials said the search is being conducted across plantations, hill regions, water bodies, and other difficult-to-access locations. The operation remains active as authorities continue to examine every possible lead.

Child Went Missing While Playing Near Home

According to police officials, Gnaneswari is the daughter of Ganesh and Bhavani, both agricultural workers living in the village. Her grandfather is employed as a gardener at a nearby palm oil plantation spread across nearly 50 acres.

Investigators said the child was playing outside with other children on Saturday while her mother was occupied with household work. Her father was reportedly away from home at the time.

A resident later noticed the young girl near a hill in the company of a dog. The villager reportedly attempted to bring her back but was unable to approach after the animal reacted aggressively. After informing the family, relatives initially assumed she had gone with her father.

Family Alerted Police After Local Search Failed

When the family confirmed that the child was not with her father, villagers immediately began searching nearby areas, including the extensive palm oil plantation and surrounding land.

As hours passed without any sign of the toddler, the family approached Tuni Rural police and formally reported her disappearance. Police then launched a large-scale search operation and began coordinating with various departments.

Technology and Special Units Deployed

Following directions from district police leadership, authorities increased the scale of the investigation. Ten dedicated police teams have been assigned to different responsibilities connected with the case.

Drone surveillance is being used to inspect remote terrain and difficult locations. SDRF personnel, assisted by trained dog squads, are examining pits, water sources, and other areas that require specialized search methods.

At the same time, investigators are reviewing surveillance footage collected from nearby locations. Separate teams have been deployed to railway stations and bus terminals to check whether the child may have been moved outside the immediate area.

Investigation Examines All Possibilities

Police officials stated that no possibility is being ruled out at this stage. Alongside physical search efforts, investigators are examining whether the disappearance could involve abduction.

Officers have been speaking with residents and gathering information from people in and around the village. Authorities are also reviewing past local disputes and other circumstances that could assist the investigation.

Meanwhile, villagers continue to participate in large numbers, supporting officials as the search enters another crucial phase. Police have appealed to the public to share any information that may help trace the missing child and bring her home safely.
