Judiciary Reform – Supreme Court Introduces Unified Digital Court Data Platform

Judiciary Reform –  Chief Justice of India Surya Kant on Monday introduced two major technology-driven initiatives aimed at improving judicial services and simplifying access to court-related information for people across the country.

The announcements were made at the beginning of the day’s proceedings in the Supreme Court, where the Chief Justice outlined plans to modernize the judicial system through better digital integration and citizen-friendly online services.

Unified Court Data System Introduced

The newly launched “One Case One Data” initiative is designed to bring together case-related information from various levels of courts into a single digital structure. The platform will combine records and updates from high courts, district courts, and taluka courts across India to create a more connected judicial database.

According to the Chief Justice, the project is expected to improve coordination between courts and make case tracking more efficient for legal professionals, litigants, and court officials. The integrated system is also intended to support smoother case management by reducing data fragmentation across different judicial institutions.

He stated that the judiciary is moving toward a more streamlined and technology-enabled framework that can handle information from multiple court levels within one organized system. The initiative is being viewed as an important step in strengthening digital infrastructure within the country’s legal system.

Focus on Faster and Simpler Court Services

Officials believe the integrated database will help improve access to judicial records while reducing delays caused by disconnected systems and manual processes. By centralizing court information, the judiciary aims to create a more reliable and transparent mechanism for handling legal data nationwide.

The development comes at a time when courts across India are increasingly adopting digital tools to improve efficiency and accessibility. Over the past few years, several online judicial services have been introduced to assist lawyers, litigants, and the general public in accessing legal information remotely.

The Chief Justice said the judiciary is committed to building an efficient case management structure that can better serve all stakeholders involved in the legal process.

AI Chatbot ‘Su Sahay’ Launched

Alongside the data integration project, the Supreme Court also launched “Su Sahay,” an Artificial Intelligence-powered chatbot integrated into the official Supreme Court website.

The chatbot has been developed by the National Informatics Centre in partnership with the Supreme Court Registry. It is expected to assist citizens by providing guidance related to court procedures, essential services, and basic information available through the Supreme Court portal.

According to the Chief Justice, the chatbot has been created to offer a simple and user-friendly interface for people seeking assistance with court-related services. The system is intended to improve front-end accessibility and help users navigate important judicial resources more conveniently.

The AI-based support feature is expected to benefit litigants and visitors who may require quick information without going through lengthy processes or multiple departments.

Appreciation for Registry and Technical Teams

During the announcement, the Chief Justice acknowledged the contribution of Registry officials, technical experts, and members of the Bar who supported the implementation of the digital initiatives.

He praised the efforts made by the teams involved in developing the projects and expressed confidence that the new systems would prove useful for everyone connected to the judicial process.

The launch of these initiatives reflects the judiciary’s continuing efforts to adopt technology-driven solutions aimed at improving efficiency, transparency, and public access within India’s court system.
