Investigation – Mysterious Death of Young IT Professional in Mussoorie Stay
Investigation – A 27-year-old software professional from Gurugram was found dead under unexplained circumstances at a homestay located along the Mussoorie-Dhanolti route, prompting a detailed police investigation. Authorities said the incident came to light on Monday morning after staff at the property reported that the woman was unresponsive.

Victim Identified by Police
The deceased has been identified as P Radha Gayatri, a resident of Delhi’s Kidwai Nagar East area. According to officials, she had travelled to Mussoorie with her husband, Soumya Sricharan, who is employed in the information technology sector in Pune.
Police stated that the couple checked into Kiana Homestay Tipridhar late on Sunday night. They had reportedly begun their trip from Delhi and spent time in Rishikesh before arriving at the property.
Emergency Response at the Homestay
Local police received information on Monday morning regarding a woman who was not responding inside one of the rooms. An ambulance team was immediately dispatched to the location. Upon examination, the medical professional accompanying the ambulance service confirmed that the woman had already died.
Investigators later learned that the couple had travelled from Delhi to Rishikesh on June 13. The following night, they checked into a room named “Bliss” at the homestay at approximately 11:30 pm.
Husband’s Statement Under Examination
During preliminary questioning, Sricharan informed police that the couple had consumed alcohol during the night before going to sleep in the early hours of the morning. He claimed that when he woke up later, he found his wife lying unresponsive. According to his statement, there was blood near her nose and signs indicating loss of bladder control.
Police officials have recorded his version of events as part of the ongoing inquiry and are examining all available evidence from the scene.
Evidence Collected From the Room
Investigators reported that the woman’s body was discovered on the floor of the room. Bloodstains were also noticed on the bedsheet. During the search of the accommodation, officers recovered two empty liquor bottles along with food items.
The findings have been documented, and forensic examination is expected to play an important role in determining the circumstances leading to the death.
Couple Married Last Year
Authorities said both Gayatri and her husband originally belonged to Visakhapatnam. The couple had recently married on November 8, 2025.
Police have informed the woman’s family about the incident. Her parents were expected to travel from Visakhapatnam to Uttarakhand following the notification.
Post-Mortem Expected to Provide Answers
The body has been sent to Coronation Hospital in Dehradun for a post-mortem examination. Officials have requested that the autopsy be conducted by a panel of doctors and recorded on camera to ensure transparency in the process.
Circle Officer Manoj Aswal stated that investigators are awaiting the medical findings before drawing any conclusions. He said the exact cause of death would become clear only after the post-mortem report is completed and reviewed by authorities.
For now, police continue to investigate all aspects of the case while awaiting the forensic and medical reports that are expected to shed light on the tragic incident.
