Investigation – ED Searches Linked to AAP Leader in Delhi and Goa
Investigation – The Enforcement Directorate carried out searches on Monday at multiple locations connected to Aam Aadmi Party leader Deepak Singla and several other individuals in Delhi and Goa as part of an ongoing money laundering investigation. Officials familiar with the matter said the operation was conducted under provisions related to financial irregularities and suspected illegal transactions.

Raids Conducted Across Multiple Locations
According to agency sources, teams of the Enforcement Directorate visited properties associated with Singla and other individuals believed to be linked to the case. The searches were conducted simultaneously in parts of the national capital and Goa to gather evidence connected to the probe.
Deepak Singla had earlier contested elections from the Vishwas Nagar Assembly constituency on an Aam Aadmi Party ticket. This is not the first time his premises have come under scrutiny. In 2024, the ED had also carried out searches linked to a separate phase of the same investigation.
Attempts to seek an immediate response from the politician were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
Focus on Alleged Financial Transactions
Officials indicated that the present action is connected to allegations involving suspicious financial dealings and possible laundering of funds. Investigators are reportedly examining documents, digital records, and transaction details collected during the searches.
While the agency has not publicly disclosed the complete details of the allegations, sources said the inquiry is aimed at tracing the movement of funds and identifying individuals who may have played a role in the alleged activities.
Separate Probe Into Investment Fraud
In another case handled by the Enforcement Directorate, officials conducted raids linked to an alleged investment fraud estimated at nearly Rs 180 crore. Authorities believe several people were cheated after being promised attractive financial returns through investment schemes.
As part of that investigation, the agency searched premises connected to a person identified as Ram Singh, associated with the Babaji Finance Group. The searches were carried out in Delhi’s Subhash Nagar area.
Investigators suspect that investors were lured with promises of high profits before funds were allegedly diverted through unauthorized channels. Officials are now examining financial records and business documents to determine the scale of the suspected fraud.
Agencies Intensify Economic Offence Investigations
The latest searches reflect the continued focus of central agencies on cases involving alleged money laundering and financial fraud. In recent years, enforcement authorities have expanded investigations into economic offences involving political figures, business operators, and investment networks.
Officials stated that evidence gathered during the raids would be examined further before any additional legal action is considered. More individuals may be questioned as the investigations progress.
The Enforcement Directorate has not yet issued a detailed public statement regarding the outcome of the searches or possible future action in either case.
