Illicit Liquor – Dwarka Police Arrest Suspect, Seize 1,600 Illegal Liquor Quarters in Crackdown
Illicit Liquor – The Dwarka District Police have stepped up their campaign against illegal liquor distribution, resulting in the arrest of an alleged supplier and the recovery of a large quantity of illicit alcohol during a targeted operation.

Anti-Illicit Liquor Campaign Intensifies
Dwarka District Police have arrested a 28-year-old man accused of supplying illegal liquor as part of a special enforcement drive aimed at curbing illicit liquor trade and narcotics-related activities in the national capital. Officials said the operation led to the seizure of 1,600 quarters of illicit liquor along with the vehicle allegedly used for transportation.
According to the police, the accused, identified as Badshah Khan, is a resident of Sector-16A in Kakrola, Dwarka. During the operation, officers recovered 32 cartons containing 1,600 bottles of 180 ml each. A scooty allegedly used to transport the liquor was also taken into custody as evidence.
Operation Conducted Under Senior Police Supervision
The action was carried out under a district-wide campaign launched on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner of Police Kushal Pal Singh. The initiative focuses on strengthening enforcement against drug trafficking and illegal liquor networks operating across Dwarka and nearby areas.
Police said the Special Staff team, headed by Inspector Kamlesh Kumar and working under the supervision of ACP (Operations) Subhash Malik, had been closely tracking suspected liquor suppliers. Officers relied on surveillance, intelligence inputs, and secret informers while monitoring the movement of suspected individuals across several locations.
Specific Intelligence Led to Arrest
Investigators said the breakthrough came after Head Constable Pardeep received reliable information on July 2 regarding an individual allegedly transporting illicit liquor on a scooty. Acting promptly on the tip-off, the Special Staff formed a raiding team and reached the area near Chander Shekhar Azad Enclave in JJ Colony, Sector-16A, which falls under the jurisdiction of Dwarka North Police Station.
During the interception, police recovered 100 quarters of illegal liquor from the vehicle. Based on further investigation, officers searched a nearby house allegedly linked to the suspect, where they discovered another 30 cartons containing 1,500 quarters of illicit liquor.
Legal Action Initiated
Following the recovery, the police registered FIR No. 221/26 at Dwarka North Police Station under Sections 33, 38, and 58(d) of the Delhi Excise Act. The accused was subsequently taken into custody for further legal proceedings.
Officials stated that the recovered liquor and the seized scooty have been taken into police possession as part of the investigation. Authorities are now examining the complete supply chain and attempting to determine where the illegal liquor originated.
Investigation Continues
Police said the investigation remains ongoing to establish the involvement of the owner of the house from which the additional liquor was recovered. Officers are also working to identify other individuals who may be connected to the alleged distribution network.
According to the district police, the ongoing campaign against illegal liquor and narcotics will continue with sustained enforcement efforts. Officials said similar operations will be carried out in the coming weeks to disrupt illegal supply chains and strengthen law enforcement across Dwarka and adjoining areas.
