Hyderabad: On Vijay Diwas, war heroes are honored at Veerula Sainik Smarak
Hyderabad: On Tuesday, Veerula Sainik Smarak in Hyderabad hosted a somber wreath-laying ceremony to honor Vijay Diwas, which commemorates the Indian Armed Forces’ heroic victory in the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War. In order to preserve India’s integrity and sovereignty, the event honored the valiant troops who gave their life in defense of the country.

Prominent officials attended the function, including Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Verma, Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, and General Officer Commanding (GOC) Telangana & Andhra Sub Area (TASA) Major General Ajay Misra. Veterans, relatives of the victims, and representatives from the Ministry of Defense joined them to commemorate the greatest sacrifices made by the armed services.
Governor Jishnu Dev Verma commended the bravery and selflessness of the troops who bravely fought in the 1971 conflict in his speech. According to him, their sacrifices are still ingrained in the collective memory of the country and serve as an inspiration to coming generations. Bhatti Vikramarka, the deputy chief minister, emphasized the significance of honoring and remembering the military’s sacrifices, pointing out that their commitment and patriotism are the foundation of India’s strength and togetherness.
The Indian Army’s steadfast commitment to preserving national security and unity was reiterated by Major General Ajay Misra. He emphasized that in addition to being a day of commemoration, Vijay Diwas serves as a reminder of the Army’s commitment to defend the country from all dangers.
The service included discussions with veterans and the Bravehearts’ families, as well as flower tributes and silent periods. Families’ attendance emphasized the strong emotional bond that exists between the military and the people they defend. The celebration acted as a reminder of the bravery shown during the 1971 war, which was one of India’s most significant military triumphs and resulted in the independence of Bangladesh.
