FireSafety – A devastating fire at a bed-and-breakfast property in Hauz Rani turned several local residents into unexpected rescuers as they stepped forward to assist guests trapped inside the smoke-filled building. Their swift actions played a crucial role in helping multiple people escape the dangerous situation before emergency teams gained full control of the scene.

Residents Rush to Assist as Fire Breaks Out

Among those who responded immediately was Arman, a local businessman who operates a mattress store directly opposite the affected accommodation facility. He was preparing tea early in the morning when nearby residents alerted him about the fire.

As thick black smoke rose from the building, Arman left his work behind and hurried to the location. By the time he arrived, flames had already spread significantly, making it impossible for anyone to safely enter the premises. Several people trapped on the upper floors were calling for help and desperately searching for a way to escape.

Quick Thinking Provides Lifeline for Trapped Guests

Understanding the seriousness of the situation, Arman unlocked his shop and began bringing out mattresses that were meant for sale. With support from other residents, he arranged them on the ground outside the building to create safer landing areas for anyone forced to jump from the upper floors.

According to him, his family has operated the mattress business in the area for nearly four decades. He recently took over management responsibilities from his father and never imagined he would use the shop’s inventory in such an emergency.
