The department received an emergency call regarding the fire at approximately 4:45 a.m., prompting an immediate response from firefighting teams.
The affected property consisted of a basement, ground floor, and three upper levels. Authorities also noted the presence of a temporary structure on the terrace above the third floor, which added to operational challenges during the firefighting efforts.
LPG Cylinder Explosions Intensify the Blaze
Officials reported that the situation became more serious when three commercial LPG cylinders exploded during the fire. The explosions caused the flames to spread rapidly and increased the intensity of the incident, requiring additional caution from emergency personnel at the scene.
To tackle the fire, nine fire engines were deployed. Firefighters worked continuously to contain the flames and prevent the blaze from spreading to adjoining structures. Their efforts helped bring the situation under control by around 5:40 a.m.
Elderly Resident Evacuated During Rescue Operation
As part of safety measures, rescue teams searched nearby buildings to ensure that no residents were trapped or affected by the fire. During these operations, a 70-year-old woman identified as Sita Devi was found in a neighboring building and safely evacuated from the second floor.
Officials confirmed that she did not suffer any serious injuries and remains in stable condition. Her rescue was carried out as a precaution while firefighters secured the surrounding area and monitored potential risks.
No Casualties Reported in the Incident
Authorities stated that no deaths or injuries were reported as a result of the restaurant fire. Emergency personnel remained at the location for several hours after the flames were extinguished to conduct cooling operations and eliminate any possibility of reignition.
Investigators have begun examining the site to determine how the fire started. At present, the exact cause of the blaze has not been officially established.
Separate Fire Reported at Rajouri Garden Showroom
In another incident on Sunday, a fire was reported at a clothing showroom in the busy Rajouri Garden market area of west Delhi. Fire officials received information about the incident at around 3:55 p.m.
The fire reportedly started on the first floor of a commercial building housing a lehenga and chunni showroom. The structure includes a ground floor along with two additional upper floors.
Investigation Underway Into Showroom Blaze
Firefighters reached the location and worked to contain the flames before they could spread further within the building. Authorities confirmed that no injuries or casualties occurred during the incident.
Officials have not yet identified the reason behind the showroom fire. A detailed investigation is expected to determine the circumstances that led to the outbreak. Meanwhile, safety assessments are being conducted to evaluate any structural damage caused by the blaze.
