Employees – AP JAC Amaravati Warns of Statewide Protest Over Pending Employee Demands

Employees –The AP JAC Amaravati has warned the Andhra Pradesh government that it will begin a statewide direct agitation if long-pending financial and service-related demands of government employees are not resolved by August 15. The announcement came after the employees’ association alleged that repeated discussions with the government had failed to produce any concrete decisions, leaving workers disappointed over the lack of progress on their long-standing issues.

Employees’ Meeting Adopts Protest Resolution

The decision was taken during a meeting of AP JAC Amaravati held at Revenue Bhavan on Sunday under the leadership of chairman Bopparaju Venkateswarlu. Representatives from various employee organizations reviewed the current status of discussions with the government and concluded that assurances alone were no longer sufficient. The gathering resolved to intensify the movement if meaningful action is not taken within the stipulated deadline.

Dissatisfaction Over Government Talks

Speaking at the meeting, Bopparaju Venkateswarlu said government employees were frustrated after multiple rounds of discussions held with senior ministers on July 10 and July 11, followed by a Cabinet sub-committee meeting on July 22. According to him, despite these meetings, no clear decisions or implementation schedule has been announced, creating uncertainty among employees awaiting relief on financial and administrative matters.

He alleged that the government had been attempting to delay the employees’ movement by continuing discussions without arriving at firm conclusions. The association believes that repeated consultations should now be followed by practical decisions that directly address the pending demands.

Pending Dues Continue to Burden Employees

Venkateswarlu said government employees continue to face financial pressure due to large amounts of unpaid dues accumulated over several years. According to the AP JAC Amaravati, unpaid employee benefits worth nearly Rs 28,000 crore remained from the previous administration, while dues amounting to around Rs 25,000 crore have accumulated during the tenure of the present coalition government.

He emphasized that employees were not asking for special incentives or additional financial assistance. Instead, they were demanding payments that they had legally earned through their service. If the government is unable to release the entire amount immediately, he suggested that the pending payments should at least be officially reflected in the individual salary statements of employees so that the outstanding liabilities are properly recorded.

Concerns Raised Over Allowances and Pay Revision

The employee leader also expressed concern over the delay in releasing Dearness Allowance (DA) instalments, stating that government employees have not received the benefit for the past two years. He argued that the prolonged delay has affected the financial stability of thousands of workers across the State.

In addition, Venkateswarlu pointed to issues related to Pay Revision Commissions (PRCs), claiming that employees had already missed financial benefits associated with three previous revisions. He also noted that the process of establishing the 12th PRC has not moved forward, adding to uncertainty regarding future salary revisions.

Call for Action Before August 15

Apart from financial matters, the AP JAC Amaravati leadership also referred to election-related commitments that, according to the association, remain unfulfilled. The organization urged the government to take immediate steps to resolve both financial and service issues before the August 15 deadline.

The employees’ body maintained that if no concrete measures are announced within the specified period, it will proceed with statewide direct protests. The association said its future course of action will depend on the government’s response in the coming days.
