Elections – The political landscape in Tamil Nadu is witnessing heightened activity as the state prepares for Assembly elections scheduled on April 23. A total of 4,023 candidates are in the fray, competing across all 234 constituencies, setting the stage for a closely watched electoral contest.
Multi-Party Battle Takes Center Stage
The upcoming election has evolved into a competitive, multi-cornered fight involving several prominent political parties. Stalin is expected to finish his campaign in Kolathur, while Palaniswami will wrap up in Edappadi, located in Salem district. Meanwhile, Vijay is set to conclude his campaign activities in Chennai’s Nandanam locality, which has attracted considerable attention during this election season.
Preparations for Polling Day
Following the end of campaigning, administrative authorities will shift their full attention to ensuring smooth polling operations. A total of 75,064 polling booths are being established across Tamil Nadu to facilitate the voting process. The distribution of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) to these locations has already begun under strict security arrangements.
Election officials have also started delivering booth slips to voters through door-to-door distribution. This initiative is intended to provide voters with clear information about their designated polling stations and other essential details, helping to minimize confusion on election day.
