Election – BJP Sharpens Telangana Strategy With Fresh Attack on Congress Leadership
Election – The Bharatiya Janata Party intensified its political campaign in Telangana by targeting its rivals while outlining an ambitious roadmap for the state’s upcoming civic elections. Addressing party workers in Hyderabad, BJP president Nitin Nabin criticised the Congress, accused the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) of financial irregularities, and reiterated the party’s commitment to strengthening its grassroots presence across Telangana.

BJP Targets Congress During Hyderabad Gathering
Speaking at the Booth Pramukh Sammelan held at the Exhibition Grounds in Nampally on Sunday, Nitin Nabin launched a sharp attack on the Congress, claiming that the party’s approach does not reflect the interests of the country. He remarked that the Congress leadership continues to think “like Italians” and asserted that such a mindset has no place in India. The comments formed part of a broader criticism aimed at the opposition during the public meeting.
Allegations Over Kaleshwaram Project
Nabin also turned his attention to the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, alleging that large-scale public funds were misused in connection with the Kaleshwaram irrigation project. According to him, the Congress is attempting to shield the BRS instead of ensuring accountability. While making these allegations, he maintained that the BJP would continue raising issues related to transparency and governance before the people of Telangana.
Remarks on Telangana Politics and Development
During his address, the BJP leader also referred to former Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao, alleging that Congress leaders had criticised him even after his passing. He further claimed that Telangana has received financial support and development initiatives from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressing confidence that a double-engine government would accelerate the state’s overall progress and administrative stability.
Nabin additionally stated that the BJP would not extend political support to the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), distinguishing the party’s position from that of the Congress.
Focus on Municipal Elections
Looking ahead to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections, Nabin urged party workers to intensify their preparations. He said the BJP would work with full dedication to secure public support and expand its electoral presence in urban areas. According to him, organisational discipline and sustained public outreach would play a key role in the party’s electoral strategy.
Expansion of BJP Organisation Across Telangana
Earlier in the day, Nitin Nabin virtually inaugurated nine new BJP district offices from the party’s Rangareddy district office in Hyderabad. During the programme, he said the expansion of organisational infrastructure reflects the BJP’s long-term commitment to strengthening its network across Telangana.
Paying tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Nabin recalled Patel’s role in integrating the Hyderabad region into the Indian Union and described the occasion as an opportunity for party workers to renew their commitment to the BJP’s ideology and organisational goals.
Party Workers Asked to Strengthen Grassroots Network
Expressing confidence in the BJP’s future growth, Nabin said the party aims to expand its reach to every village, town and neighbourhood across Telangana. He encouraged workers to view politics as a mission of public service and sacrifice while preparing for the forthcoming Municipal Corporation elections. He also reiterated the party’s objective of establishing a double-engine government in the state through sustained grassroots efforts and organisational expansion.
