EducationNews – NSUI Demonstrations Intensify Over Alleged NEET Examination Irregularities
EducationNews – The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) on Monday organised demonstrations in parts of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh over the alleged NEET examination paper leak controversy. Protesters demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and called for the dissolution of the National Testing Agency (NTA), accusing the examination body of failing to ensure fairness in competitive tests conducted across the country.

Students Raise Questions Over Examination Integrity
During the protests, NSUI members claimed that repeated incidents of question paper leaks have damaged the credibility of national-level entrance examinations. Demonstrators said thousands of students dedicate months of preparation for highly competitive exams, only to face uncertainty and frustration when allegations of irregularities emerge.
Several participants argued that repeated controversies surrounding recruitment and entrance examinations have created distrust among aspirants and their families. Protesters stated that parents also face emotional and financial pressure after investing significant resources in coaching, study materials and academic preparation for their children.
One student participant at the protest said the organisation’s primary demands include strict accountability in the examination system and stronger action against those involved in alleged paper leak networks. Protesters also questioned how such incidents could occur repeatedly despite existing monitoring systems.
Concerns Over Repeated Examination Leak Allegations
NSUI workers further alleged that similar controversies had surfaced during previous years, including 2021 and 2024, and claimed that authorities had not introduced sufficient safeguards to prevent recurrence. Demonstrators insisted that examination reforms were urgently required to restore public confidence in the system.
Some participants criticised the government’s response to recent developments, claiming that isolated arrests would not address the larger issue if deeper institutional lapses were not investigated thoroughly. Protesters maintained that students across the country were seeking transparency, timely investigations and a secure examination process.
The organisation also accused authorities of failing to understand the emotional impact such controversies have on young aspirants. Protesters stated that uncertainty surrounding major entrance examinations often leads to stress and anxiety among students preparing for medical and professional courses.
Mental Health Issues Highlighted During Demonstrations
During the demonstrations, several protesters spoke about the psychological pressure faced by examination candidates. They said students spend long hours preparing for highly competitive tests and often place their future career plans on the outcome of a single examination.
Participants argued that repeated allegations of paper leaks weaken students’ trust in merit-based selection systems. Some protesters expressed concern that increasing uncertainty around examinations may discourage honest and hardworking students who rely solely on academic performance.
NSUI members also appealed for stronger institutional accountability and reforms aimed at protecting students from the consequences of examination-related controversies. Protesters said a transparent and reliable testing system was necessary to maintain confidence in the country’s education framework.
Unique Protest Held in Uttar Pradesh’s Basti
In Uttar Pradesh’s Basti district, NSUI workers organised a symbolic protest by distributing jhalmuri while raising concerns over both examination paper leaks and unemployment among young people. Demonstrators claimed the act was intended to draw attention to what they described as growing frustration among educated youth struggling with uncertain career opportunities.
During the protest, participants alleged that multiple examination papers had reportedly been leaked over the past decade, which they described as evidence of weaknesses in the current examination and recruitment system. Protesters demanded stricter security measures and improved oversight mechanisms for national-level examinations.
Some demonstrators also linked the issue to broader concerns about employment opportunities for young people. They argued that delays, cancellations and controversies surrounding recruitment and entrance exams affect career prospects for lakhs of students preparing for government jobs and professional courses.
The protests remained focused on demands for transparency, accountability and reforms within the examination system, while student organisations continued urging authorities to take stronger corrective measures to address concerns raised by aspirants across the country.
