University Brings Students Together From Across India

The President said the Central University of Andhra Pradesh has created a learning environment that brings together students from different parts of the country. She noted that such institutions strengthen the spirit of unity in diversity by allowing young people from varied cultural and regional backgrounds to learn and grow together.

She said higher education should not only prepare students for professional careers but also help them become responsible citizens. According to her, universities must encourage students to understand the needs of society and contribute positively to national development.

Girl Students Shine in Academic Achievements

President Murmu praised the academic performance of female students at the university, observing that they had won a higher number of gold medals. She said the achievement reflected the confidence, ambition and determination of young women who are increasingly making their mark in education and professional fields.

She encouraged students to remain committed to excellence while maintaining humility and respect for others. Their achievements, she said, should inspire them to take on greater responsibilities in the years ahead.

Technology Learning Must Be Matched With Human Values

Highlighting the fast pace of technological change, the President said continuous learning has become essential for students and professionals. She appreciated the university for making Artificial Intelligence and Data Science compulsory subjects, describing them as important areas for students preparing for future opportunities.

At the same time, she stressed that technological knowledge must be guided by honesty, compassion, empathy and respect for the environment. Graduates should be ready to adopt new tools and ideas, but they must also remain aware of the social impact of their work, she said.

Call to Use Knowledge for Public Welfare

President Murmu said success brings with it a responsibility to serve society. She urged graduates to use their education and skills to support communities, especially people who are disadvantaged or in need of assistance.

She said India’s progress would depend not only on economic growth and technological advancement but also on the ability of educated citizens to create opportunities for others. Students should remain connected to social realities and work towards solutions that improve lives, she added.

First Convocation Marks Important University Milestone

Governor S. Abdul Nazeer described the first convocation as a significant occasion in the university’s journey. He said the Central University of Andhra Pradesh was established after the bifurcation of the state to meet the educational aspirations of people in Andhra Pradesh.

The Governor said the institution has opened new possibilities for higher education in the Rayalaseema region. Through value-based, multidisciplinary and industry-oriented courses, the university is working in line with the National Education Policy 2020, he said.

Role of Higher Education in National Development

Governor Abdul Nazeer said universities have a major responsibility in building an Atmanirbhar Bharat and supporting the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision. He said higher education institutions must develop skilled and capable human resources who can meet the demands of changing industries and contribute to national growth.

Vice-Chancellor SA Kori said degrees were awarded to 1,268 students who completed their studies between 2020 and 2026. He added that 56 students were recognised for academic excellence, including eight recipients of Endowment Gold Medals.
