Focus on education-led development

Speaking at the first convocation ceremony of the Central University of Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday, Lokesh said education would remain central to the State’s long-term growth plans. He noted that Andhra Pradesh is being positioned as a hub for technology, manufacturing and innovation under the leadership of the Chief Minister.

According to Lokesh, the government’s approach is aimed at preparing young people for changing economic and professional requirements. He said institutions of higher learning have an important role in building skills, encouraging research and supporting entrepreneurship.

Message for the graduating batch

Congratulating the students receiving their degrees, Lokesh said the first graduating class would hold a lasting place in the history of the university. He also extended his wishes to the gold medal recipients and their families.

The minister encouraged students to look beyond the circumstances in which they were born and focus on their ambitions, work ethic and personal values. He said an individual’s future should be shaped by determination, discipline and character rather than by social or economic background.

President Murmu’s journey cited as inspiration

Lokesh referred to President Droupadi Murmu’s journey from a tribal village to the office of the President of India as an example of perseverance and commitment. He said her life story shows how courage and sustained effort can help people overcome difficult circumstances and achieve significant goals.

He urged students to take inspiration from such examples while building their own careers. The minister said graduates should approach new opportunities with confidence while remaining grounded in their values.

Call for entrepreneurship and leadership

Lokesh asked the students to consider becoming job creators rather than only job seekers. He said young graduates can contribute to the State’s development by using their education to create enterprises, generate employment and address practical challenges in society.

He told the students to carry their learning with confidence, remain humble in their conduct and pursue their goals with courage. Lokesh said their achievements should bring pride to the Central University of Andhra Pradesh as well as to the country.

Senior officials attend the ceremony

Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav attended the convocation along with CUAP Chancellor Shankar Acharya and Vice-Chancellor SA Kori. The event marked an important milestone for the university as it celebrated its first group of graduates.

The convocation also reflected the growing focus on higher education in Andhra Pradesh, with government leaders highlighting the need for academic institutions to support innovation, employment and inclusive development. Lokesh said the State’s future would depend on the ability of its youth to combine knowledge, integrity and enterprise in the years ahead.
