Authorities Flag Coordinated Disinformation Effort

According to officials leading the inquiry, the events were not entirely spontaneous. Police believe that misleading narratives circulated online played a significant role in escalating tensions. Claims of fatalities during police action were widely shared on social media platforms, despite being officially denied.

One individual, who identifies himself as an auto-rickshaw driver, has reportedly been travelling extensively since 2018. Another, currently unemployed, has also been present at various demonstrations since 2020. Authorities are examining whether their involvement was coincidental or part of a broader pattern.
