CrimeNews –  A 25-year-old man from Mumbai has been taken into custody after allegedly subjecting his wife to repeated acts of violence and intimidation over a domestic dispute. Authorities said the accused, identified as Arbaaz Syed, is facing serious charges following allegations of physical abuse, unlawful confinement, and threats against the victim.

Alleged Abuse Inside Family Residence

According to police officials, the incidents began inside the couple’s home, where the woman was allegedly assaulted during an argument that escalated into violence. Investigators stated that the accused is suspected of restricting her movement and preventing her from leaving the residence.

The complaint further alleges that the woman was threatened with severe harm. Police said the accused reportedly warned her that he would kill her using a sword and also made threats involving an acid attack. These allegations form part of the evidence being examined during the ongoing investigation.

Claims of Prolonged Physical and Mental Harassment

Authorities said the victim described being subjected to extended physical and psychological abuse. As per the police account, she was allegedly forced to remain in a painful disciplinary posture for several hours while facing continued intimidation.

Investigators noted that the alleged treatment caused significant distress and fear. Statements recorded during the inquiry indicate that the woman endured repeated threats throughout the incident, prompting concerns for her safety and well-being.

Victim Seeks Refuge With Family

After the alleged abuse, the woman managed to leave the residence and reach her parents’ home, where she sought protection. Family members reportedly provided immediate support and attempted to ensure her safety following the incident.

Police said the situation, however, did not end there. The accused allegedly arrived at the family residence shortly afterward, leading to another confrontation that further escalated tensions.

Fresh Attack Reported at Parents’ Home

Investigators stated that the accused allegedly carried out another assault in the presence of the victim’s relatives. According to the complaint, he reportedly attacked his wife with a knife, creating panic among family members gathered at the residence.

Witnesses quickly informed local authorities, who responded to the scene and detained the suspect. The woman received assistance while officers began collecting evidence and statements related to the allegations.

Criminal Background Emerges During Investigation

During the inquiry, police discovered that the accused has a lengthy criminal record. Officials revealed that he is listed as a history-sheeter and has been linked to 19 criminal cases registered at different police stations.
