CrimeNews – Delhi Father Arrested After Infant Daughter Found Dead at Home

CrimeNews – A 25-year-old man from Delhi’s Bhalswa Dairy locality has been arrested after police uncovered the murder of his 10-month-old daughter, an incident that initially surfaced as a suspected kidnapping case. Investigators said the accused attempted to divert attention by falsely reporting that the infant had been abducted from their residence.

Police Probe Revealed Contradictions

According to officials, the accused, identified as Deepak, lived with his family in Mukundpur Part-II and worked as a school van driver. On Sunday, he approached police claiming that his daughter had disappeared from the house while he had briefly stepped out to purchase biscuits nearby.

Based on the complaint, police teams immediately began a search operation in the surrounding area. CCTV footage from nearby streets and possible exit routes was reviewed in an effort to trace the missing child. However, officers soon found several inconsistencies in the father’s statement.

Investigators said the available footage did not support Deepak’s version of events, raising suspicion about the kidnapping claim. As questioning continued, police noticed gaps in his timeline and began treating the matter as a possible case of foul play.

Confession During Interrogation

Senior officers stated that Deepak eventually confessed during interrogation. He allegedly admitted that he killed the infant inside the house and later disposed of the body in the septic tank located on the property.

Police said the accused revealed he had been struggling financially and felt burdened by the responsibility of raising another daughter. During questioning, he allegedly told investigators that the pressure of household expenses pushed him toward the crime.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North) Hareshwar Swami said the accused tried to mislead authorities by creating a false kidnapping narrative after committing the murder. Officers later recovered the child’s body from the septic tank following the confession.

Body Recovered From Septic Tank

After the disclosure, police teams carried out a recovery operation at the residence. The body of the infant was retrieved from the septic tank and sent for further legal and medical procedures.

Authorities have registered a case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which relates to murder. The accused father has been taken into custody, and further investigation is continuing to establish the complete sequence of events.

Disturbing Incident Shocks Local Residents

The incident has left residents of the Bhalswa Dairy area shocked, particularly because the case began as a search for a supposedly kidnapped child. Neighbours and local residents reportedly gathered near the house after news of the arrest spread through the locality.

Police officials are also examining other aspects related to the family’s financial condition and domestic circumstances. Investigators said statements from relatives and nearby residents are being recorded as part of the ongoing inquiry.

The case has once again drawn attention to issues surrounding financial stress and crimes within families, while authorities continue gathering evidence linked to the incident.
