Crime – Four additional individuals have been taken into custody in connection with the alleged assault of an Army Brigadier and his son in southwest Delhi’s Vasant Enclave area, police officials confirmed on Thursday. With these latest arrests, authorities say all suspects linked to the case have now been apprehended.

Arrests Bring Case Closer to Completion
According to senior police officials, the newly arrested individuals have been identified as Surjit Singh, 36, Sunil Sharma, 53, Ashish, 32, all residents of Mehram Nagar, and Satender, 35, from Bhiwani in Haryana. Earlier, two other suspects, Satender alias Sonu, 49, and Sanjay Sharma, 56, both from Mehram Nagar, had already been detained in connection with the case.
Police stated that these arrests mark a significant development in the investigation, as all individuals believed to be involved have now been accounted for. Efforts are ongoing to gather further evidence and establish the sequence of events in detail.
Sequence of Events Leading to the Incident
Investigators revealed that Surjit Singh was acquainted with the primary accused, Satender. On the day of the incident, the group was reportedly together in Mehram Nagar when Satender received a phone call informing him about a dispute in Vasant Enclave. Following this, they travelled to the location in a Hyundai Aura car owned by Surjit.
Upon reaching the area, the situation escalated into a confrontation. After the altercation, the group allegedly returned to their respective homes. However, once they became aware that a police case had been registered, they reportedly went into hiding. Authorities later tracked them down and carried out the arrests.
Vehicle Recovered, Investigation Continues
Police confirmed that the vehicle used by the accused has been recovered and is currently undergoing forensic examination. Officials are working to determine whether it played a direct role in the incident or was used solely for transportation.
Investigators also noted that two of the accused, Satender and Sanjay Sharma, have not been cooperating with authorities. Their lack of cooperation is said to be slowing certain aspects of the inquiry, though officials remain confident about building a strong case based on available evidence.
Details of the Assault Incident
The case stems from an incident that occurred on Saturday night when an Army Brigadier and his son were reportedly attacked by a group of individuals in the Vasant Enclave area. According to preliminary findings, the altercation began after the officer objected to two individuals consuming alcohol inside a parked car near his residence.
The victims were reportedly taking a walk after dinner when they noticed the activity and raised an objection. This led to a heated exchange, which eventually turned violent. Both the Brigadier and his son sustained injuries during the incident, prompting immediate police involvement.
Focus on Law and Order Measures
The incident has drawn attention to concerns regarding public safety and law enforcement in residential areas. Police officials have reiterated their commitment to maintaining order and ensuring that such incidents are dealt with strictly under the law.
Authorities have also urged citizens to report any suspicious activities promptly, emphasizing that timely information can help prevent such confrontations from escalating.
As the investigation continues, officials are expected to file detailed charges based on the evidence collected so far. Further legal proceedings will determine the course of action against those accused in the case.
