Admissions – Admissions to CM Shri Schools for the upcoming academic session have been formally outlined by the Directorate of Education, providing clarity on key dates, eligibility criteria, and examination procedures for prospective students.
The admission process will begin on April 13 for students seeking entry into Classes 6 and 9. For those applying to Class 11, the registration window will open later, on May 7. These timelines are part of a structured plan aimed at ensuring a smooth and transparent selection process for one of Delhi’s prominent school initiatives.
Entrance Exam Dates and Result Timeline
The Directorate has already started issuing admit cards, which were distributed earlier this week. Candidates are advised to carefully check their details and exam instructions mentioned on these documents.
Entrance examinations for Classes 6 and 9 are expected to take place in the final week of March. Meanwhile, students applying for Class 11 will appear for their entrance test in May. The results for Classes 6 and 9 are scheduled to be announced on April 30, allowing selected candidates sufficient time to complete further admission formalities. Results for Class 11 are likely to be declared on May 25.
Eligibility Criteria for Applicants
The eligibility requirements have been clearly defined to ensure that only deserving candidates apply. Students must be residents of Delhi and should have studied in a recognised school within the city during the 2025–26 academic year.
This condition has been introduced to prioritise local students and maintain consistency in academic standards. Applicants who do not meet these criteria will not be considered for admission, regardless of their performance in the entrance test.
Reservation Policy and Seat Distribution
The seat allocation policy reflects an effort to balance opportunities among different student groups. Half of the total seats have been reserved for students currently studying in Delhi government schools. This measure is aimed at supporting students from public education backgrounds.
The remaining 50 per cent of seats are open to other eligible applicants, including those from private institutions, provided they meet the residency and schooling requirements. This approach ensures inclusivity while maintaining a fair competitive environment.
Exam Pattern and Language Options
The entrance tests will follow an objective format and will be conducted using OMR sheets. This method allows for quicker and more accurate evaluation of answers.
For Class 6 candidates, the question paper will be available in both English and Hindi, giving students the flexibility to choose their preferred language. However, for Classes 9 and 11, the exams will be conducted entirely in English.
Importantly, there will be no negative marking in the Class 6 examination, which is expected to reduce pressure on younger students and encourage them to attempt all questions confidently.
