Nepal: JP Nadda discusses expanding healthcare cooperation with his colleague

Nepal: During his discussions with his Nepali colleague, Union Health Minister JP Nadda confirmed collaboration in the medical field.

Among other things, the discussions focused on improving capacity development and the availability of medical medications.

“Union Health Minister Shri JP Nadda held a productive and forward-looking meeting with H.E. Dr. Union Health Minister JP Nadda,” Nadda said in a post on X.JP Nadda, the Honourable Minister of Health and Population of Nepal, is the Union Health Minister. The long-standing healthcare collaboration between India and Nepal was reinforced during the conference.

“Strengthening collaboration in public health and health infrastructure was the main topic of discussion. The provision of necessary medications and vaccinations, disease monitoring, digital health projects, capacity development, and regulatory cooperation were all highlighted. Under India’s Neighbourhood First Policy, these initiatives demonstrate our shared commitment to robust and people-centered health systems,” he said.

In the meanwhile, the PHDCCI India-Nepal Center, in collaboration with the Consulate General of India, hosted a roundtable discussion on “India-Nepal Cooperation in New Technology & Startups” in Janakpur on Wednesday.

The Nepal Young Entrepreneurs’ Forum (NYEF: Birgunj and Janakpur Chapters) co-organized the event, which included an insightful discussion on startups and young business owners.

The goal of the debate, according to the organizers, was to further speed up bilateral collaboration between India and Nepal in important areas that are impacted by new technologies.

“Today’s Roundtable Discussion on India-Nepal Cooperation in New Technology & Startups shall support the convergence of new-age businesses in Nepal with their counterparts in India, in addition to ideating on various aspects of new technology and how India’s edge in this segment can be beneficial for Nepalese businesses,” said Devi Sahai Meena, the Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker, who is the Consul General of India in Birgunj, Nepal.

“India is developing quickly. India is at the top of the list of nations with outstanding economic growth. Across many industries, India has made tremendous strides, but especially in technology and entrepreneurship. India is now acknowledged as the global center for IT. India ranks third among nations that support startups, according to Devi Sahai Meena of the Indian Consulate General in Nepal, who spoke to ANI.
