The film will depict events from the year 2000, when 233 Indian soldiers were taken hostage by rebel forces in Sierra Leone, West Africa. It will focus on the complex rescue operation that followed, highlighting the challenges faced by the troops during the mission.
Hooda is set to portray Major General Raj Pal Punia, who at the time served as a young Company Commander in the 14th Mechanised Infantry. The role will require him to capture both the strategic and emotional aspects of a high-pressure military situation, set against the backdrop of difficult terrain and conflict conditions.
