Film Continues the Legacy of a Popular Story
Directed by R. S. Prasanna and written by Divy Nidhi Sharma, “Sitaare Zameen Par” was produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit. The film serves as a spiritual follow-up to the acclaimed 2007 movie “Taare Zameen Par”, while also drawing inspiration from the 2018 Spanish film “Champions”, of which it is an official adaptation.
The story follows Gulshan Arora, a basketball coach portrayed by Aamir Khan, who faces suspension and is ordered to undertake community service. As part of his punishment, he is assigned to train a team of differently-abled players preparing for a competitive tournament. Through this experience, the character undergoes a personal transformation while helping the athletes pursue their goals.

Actor Genelia Deshmukh played a key role in the film, while the project also introduced several newcomers to audiences. The cast included Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.
The film’s technical team brought together experienced professionals from across the industry. Cinematography was handled by G. Srinivas Reddy, editing responsibilities were undertaken by Charu Shree Roy, and the soundtrack was composed by the celebrated trio Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy.
