Vishal Applauds Historic Sprint Achievement

Reacting to the milestone on social media platform X, Vishal commended the Punjab-born athlete for his determination and discipline. The actor said Gurindervir’s performance reflected the power of self-belief and dedication, adding that such achievements inspire future generations to challenge long-standing limitations in Indian athletics.

Vishal also expressed confidence that Indian sprinters are capable of competing at the highest international level. He encouraged Gurindervir to continue aiming higher and hoped the athlete would receive stronger institutional and financial backing in the coming years.

Record-Breaking Performance in Ranchi

Representing Reliance Foundation, Gurindervir reclaimed the national men’s 100m title with his stunning run at the competition on Saturday. More importantly, his timing of 10.09 seconds made him the first Indian sprinter to cross the 10.10-second mark, a feat that had remained untouched in the country’s athletics history.

The achievement has generated widespread appreciation across sports circles and social media, with many considering it a landmark moment for Indian sprinting. Experts believe the performance signals a new era for track events in the country, especially in short-distance races where India has traditionally struggled on the global stage.

Support From Sports Community and Institutions

Several public figures and organisations congratulated the athlete after the record-setting run. Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya acknowledged the achievement, while the Indian Navy also shared a message celebrating Gurindervir’s dedication and success.

The Navy, where Gurindervir serves as a Petty Officer, highlighted his commitment and discipline, calling his achievement a proud moment for the force as well as the nation. Their message praised his speed, focus, and hard work on the track.

Qualification for Major International Events

Apart from rewriting the national record books, Gurindervir also secured qualification for two major international competitions. His timing comfortably surpassed the Athletics Federation of India’s qualification standard of 10.16 seconds for both the Commonwealth Games and the Asian Games.

This accomplishment has increased expectations around his future performances on the international circuit. Athletics observers believe that if he maintains his current form, he could become one of India’s strongest medal prospects in sprint events over the next few years.

Vishal Busy With Upcoming Film Project

While celebrating the athlete’s success, Vishal is also occupied with his latest film commitments. The actor is currently working on director Sundar C’s upcoming action entertainer “Purushan,” where he stars opposite actress Tamannaah Bhatia. The film has already generated attention among cinema audiences and is expected to be one of the notable Tamil releases in the coming months.

Gurindervir’s achievement, meanwhile, continues to draw admiration from athletes, celebrities, and sports fans nationwide, with many viewing his record-breaking sprint as a defining moment for Indian athletics.
