Fatal Collision During Pilgrimage Journey

According to officials, the bus was transporting nearly 40 pilgrims and tourists from Andhra Pradesh. The group had been visiting prominent religious destinations and was travelling from Bodh Gaya to Varanasi when the accident occurred. The collision took place near Bhavani Hotel, situated between Bhediya and Dev Mor within the jurisdiction of the Mufassil police station area.

Emergency teams and local residents rushed to the scene shortly after the crash. The impact caused severe damage to the front section of the bus, trapping several passengers inside. Rescue operations continued for hours as authorities worked to evacuate the injured and restore traffic movement on the busy highway.

Investigation Underway Into Cause of Crash

Preliminary accounts from eyewitnesses indicate that the accident may have occurred while the bus driver was attempting to overtake another vehicle. During the manoeuvre, the bus reportedly rammed into a truck-trailer moving ahead on the highway.

Police officials have not confirmed the exact reason behind the collision and stated that a detailed investigation is in progress. Authorities are examining the circumstances leading up to the crash, including road conditions, vehicle speed, and driver actions. Further information is expected once the inquiry is completed.

Major Fire Erupts at Buxar Petrol Pump Storehouse

In a separate incident on the same night, a large fire broke out at a petrol pump storehouse in Bihar’s Buxar district, causing extensive property damage. Although no injuries or fatalities were reported, the blaze destroyed several vehicles and resulted in financial losses estimated to be worth several lakh rupees.

Initial findings from officials suggested that the commercial facility was operating without adhering to several mandatory safety requirements. The fire reportedly started in a storage area located behind the fuel station and quickly spread across adjoining sections of the premises.

Firefighters Mobilised to Control Blaze

Fire department personnel received an emergency call at approximately 7:40 PM. As the seriousness of the situation became evident, additional firefighting resources were deployed to prevent the flames from spreading further.

Fire Officer Satyadev Singh said the first response unit reached the location promptly, but the presence of highly combustible materials required a larger operation. In total, five fire engines were pressed into service to contain the fire and protect nearby structures.

Flammable Materials Intensified Fire

Officials stated that a significant stock of industrial lubricants stored inside the godown accelerated the spread of the flames. An adjoining plywood warehouse further worsened the situation, producing dense smoke that reduced visibility and complicated firefighting efforts.

Despite the intensity of the blaze, firefighters successfully prevented the main fuel dispensing infrastructure from catching fire. Their efforts helped avoid a potentially disastrous situation in the surrounding residential area.

However, the storehouse suffered extensive destruction. Four vehicles parked within the premises were completely burned, while several others sustained varying degrees of damage. Authorities are continuing their assessment of the losses and investigating the circumstances that led to the fire.
