Factory Fire – Massive Blaze Erupts at Candle Manufacturing Unit in Krishna Colony
Factory Fire – Firefighters continued efforts to contain a major blaze that broke out at a candle manufacturing facility in Krishna Colony during the early hours of Saturday. Emergency teams rushed to the location soon after the incident was reported, while officials worked to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby structures.
The cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed, and authorities have not released information regarding any injuries or casualties. Fire and emergency personnel remained at the scene for several hours, using multiple resources to bring the situation under control. Firefighters Continue Containment Operations

Recent Explosion at Saharanpur Firecracker Unit
The latest fire comes just days after another industrial accident in Uttar Pradesh. On July 25, two workers died in a powerful explosion at a firecracker manufacturing unit in Kunda Basi village of Saharanpur district.
Following the blast, police and district administration officials immediately reached the site and secured the area. Authorities began a detailed investigation to identify the type of firecracker involved and establish the circumstances that led to the explosion.
Saharanpur District Magistrate Arvind Kumar Chauhan confirmed that two workers lost their lives in the incident. He said police and administrative teams initiated a comprehensive inquiry and were examining evidence to determine the exact cause of the accident.
Ammonia Gas Leak Sent Workers to Hospital
Earlier in the same week, another industrial emergency occurred in Saharanpur when an ammonia gas leak affected workers at a meat processing facility. The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon at ALM Industries Limited, located within the Gagalheri police station area.
According to officials, several women were engaged in packaging work when the gas leak occurred. The sudden release of ammonia created panic inside the plant, with workers reporting breathing problems, dizziness and anxiety. Some employees also lost consciousness before emergency teams arrived.
Authorities Launch Investigation
Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sadar Subodh Kumar said authorities received information about the gas leak at around 1:00 pm. The State Disaster Response Team, local police led by Station House Officer Dharmendra Singh and fire brigade personnel reached the factory without delay.
Officials confirmed that 14 women workers whose health was affected by the ammonia leak were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. According to the administration, all of them are currently safe and receiving appropriate medical care.
Focus on Industrial Safety
Following the gas leak, operations at the processing plant were temporarily suspended as officials began inspecting the facility. Departments concerned with industrial safety and workplace compliance have started a formal investigation to identify the source of the leak and assess whether safety procedures were adequately followed.
