Parliament –   Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday urged members of Parliament to ensure that the Monsoon Session is conducted in a constructive and meaningful manner, emphasizing that discussions should be guided by facts, reason and respectful debate instead of disruptions.

PM Urges Lawmakers to Prioritise Meaningful Discussions

Addressing reporters before Parliament convened, the Prime Minister said the Monsoon Session should contribute positively to the country’s progress. Drawing a comparison with the seasonal rains, he remarked that just as an active monsoon benefits the nation, a productive Parliament strengthens governance and public welfare.

He expressed hope that both the rainy season and the parliamentary session would deliver positive outcomes for the country, stressing the importance of cooperation among lawmakers.

Appeal for Evidence-Based Debate

With opposition parties expected to raise issues including allegations linked to Ram temple donations, the NEET examination paper leak and concerns over E20 fuel, Modi called for discussions rooted in evidence rather than confrontation.

He said strong arguments supported by facts eliminate the need for disorder inside the House. According to the Prime Minister, Parliament is a platform where every elected representative should have the opportunity to present their views, and healthy debate is essential for strengthening democracy. He appealed to all members to participate sincerely throughout the session.

India Highlights Economic Stability Amid Global Challenges

The Prime Minister also pointed to India’s economic performance despite ongoing international uncertainties, particularly tensions in West Asia that have affected global energy markets and supply chains.

He noted that disruptions in the availability and pricing of products such as petrol, diesel, LPG and fertilisers had created challenges for many countries. Despite these pressures, he said India continued to record strong economic growth, citing a growth rate of 7.7 percent as evidence of the country’s resilience and expanding economic strength.

Recent Milestones Reflect India’s Growing Capabilities

Modi highlighted a series of achievements in recent weeks across sectors including space technology, infrastructure and innovation. He said these developments demonstrate India’s expanding technological capabilities and the growing confidence of young entrepreneurs.

Referring to recent progress in the space sector, he mentioned that an Indian citizen had recently been associated with the International Space Station and also praised a youth-led Indian start-up for achieving a technological milestone accomplished by only a limited number of countries. He said such successes have strengthened India’s global reputation while inspiring confidence among young innovators.

Focus on Innovation and Infrastructure

The Prime Minister further referred to the commissioning of a major oil refinery, the inauguration of a semiconductor manufacturing facility and the launch of India’s first hydrogen-powered train.

According to him, these projects reflect the commitment of Indian engineers, innovators and entrepreneurs to build advanced technologies and modern infrastructure. He said such achievements demonstrate the country’s growing industrial capabilities and its focus on future-oriented development.

Concluding his remarks, Modi said the government’s reform initiatives have created an environment that encourages innovation and supports ambitious young Indians.
