Bullet Train Recruitment – The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has announced a large-scale hiring initiative for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor, offering 224 vacancies across multiple departments as development work on India’s first bullet train network continues to advance.

The recruitment campaign includes opportunities in engineering, operations, information technology, safety, and maintenance functions. According to the official notification, 209 positions have been earmarked for non-executive categories, while 15 vacancies are available at the executive level.

Wide Range of Positions Available

The latest hiring drive covers several technical and operational roles essential to the functioning of the high-speed rail system. Openings are available for junior engineers, train managers, station managers, depot controllers, operations controllers, and IT professionals.

Operational positions form a significant portion of the recruitment exercise. Roles linked to train movement, station administration, and control systems collectively account for 55 vacancies, highlighting the growing workforce requirements for the upcoming rail corridor.

Engineering Workforce Expansion Planned

NHSRCL is also seeking to strengthen its engineering divisions by recruiting professionals across multiple technical disciplines. Vacancies have been announced for junior engineers specializing in electrical systems, civil and track infrastructure, signalling and telecommunications, rolling stock, and automatic fare collection technology.

As per the notification, the corporation has listed 47 vacancies for junior engineers in the electrical category. Civil and track engineering accounts for 31 positions, while signalling and telecom have 20 openings. Additionally, there are 14 vacancies in rolling stock (electrical), three in rolling stock (mechanical), and five posts related to automatic fare collection systems.

Executive and Senior-Level Openings

Apart from non-executive recruitment, NHSRCL is inviting applications for several executive positions. The organization is looking to appoint assistant managers responsible for safety-related functions and experienced professionals for technology-driven leadership roles.

These include positions such as Deputy General Manager in Information Technology, Senior Manager for Data Analytics, and Senior Manager for Cloud Infrastructure. The vacancies reflect the corporation’s focus on integrating advanced digital systems into the high-speed rail project.

Eligibility Requirements for Applicants

Candidates interested in applying must meet specific age and experience criteria. Applicants should not be older than 45 years as of May 31, 2026. In addition, a minimum of three years of relevant experience in operations and maintenance is required.

Eligible experience must have been gained through organizations such as Indian Railways, government-operated metro rail networks, or Regional Rapid Transit Systems (RRTS). Educational qualifications vary according to the role, ranging from diploma-level technical education to BE or B.Tech degrees in relevant engineering disciplines.

Selection Process and Application Timeline

The recruitment process is being conducted on an absorption basis, meaning only candidates currently serving in eligible railway-related organizations can submit applications.

Shortlisted applicants will be required to appear for a Computer-Based Test (CBT). Candidates who qualify will undergo document verification followed by a medical fitness examination before final selection.

NHSRCL has set separate application deadlines for different categories. Applications for executive-level positions will close on July 9, while candidates applying for non-executive posts can submit their applications until July 14.

The recruitment drive is expected to support the growing manpower needs of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor, a flagship infrastructure project designed to introduce high-speed rail travel in India.
