Governance – Andhra Pradesh Government Prepares Detailed Two-Year Performance Review

Governance – The Andhra Pradesh government is preparing a comprehensive review of its work completed between 2024 and 2026, highlighting administrative reforms, infrastructure growth, welfare initiatives, and governance improvements undertaken during the first two years of the coalition administration.

Governance andhra pradesh two year performance review

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has instructed ministers and senior bureaucrats to finalize and publish a detailed “Progress Report 2024–26” aimed at providing the public with a transparent account of the government’s performance since taking office in June 2024. The exercise is intended to document the state’s journey toward economic recovery, institutional strengthening, and development-focused governance.

Reports to Track Progress Across Key Sectors

The proposed reports will serve as Action Taken Reports on the seven white papers issued shortly after the coalition government assumed office. Those documents had outlined challenges and conditions in major sectors, including state finances, the Polavaram irrigation project, Amaravati development, the power sector, law and order, mining activities, and the excise department.

According to officials, the upcoming reports will explain the corrective measures implemented to address the concerns highlighted in those assessments while also presenting the government’s broader achievements over the last two years.

Focus on Administrative Reforms and Welfare Measures

During a review meeting held at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office on Sunday, Naidu stated that the objective is to clearly demonstrate the steps taken to restore growth and stability in the state. He emphasized the need for detailed documentation of reforms, welfare programs, and infrastructure projects that have contributed to strengthening governance and improving public services.

The reports are expected to present measurable outcomes from various government initiatives, offering citizens an overview of progress made across multiple sectors.

Phased Release Schedule Announced

To ensure wider public access and understanding, the government plans to release the reports in stages. The first report, covering developments in the power sector, is scheduled for publication on June 22, 2026.

Officials said the phased approach will allow individual sectors to be examined in greater detail before the findings are consolidated into a larger document.

Three New Reporting Categories Introduced

In addition to the original seven sectors covered by the white papers, the government has decided to expand the reporting framework through three new categories.

The Development section will focus on agriculture, industrial growth, infrastructure projects, and tourism. The Good Governance segment will highlight policy decisions, institutional reforms, and administrative improvements. Meanwhile, the Welfare and Empowerment category will showcase social welfare initiatives and the government’s P4 model designed to support various sections of society.

Deadline Set for Comprehensive Publication

The Chief Minister has directed officials to complete and release all reports by July 18, 2026. Once finalized, the documents will be compiled into a single publication that will serve as a reference point for evaluating the government’s annual performance and progress.

The review meeting was attended by several cabinet ministers, including Payyavula Keshav, Ponguru Narayana, Anagani Satya Prasad, Vangalapudi Anitha, Gottipati Ravi Kumar, Nimmala Ramanaidu, and Kollu Ravindra. Chief Secretary K. Sai Prasad and Director General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta were also present.

Annual Reporting to Strengthen Accountability

Naidu reiterated that institutionalizing the progress report as an annual exercise would strengthen transparency and public accountability. He noted that regular reporting would help citizens assess government performance more effectively while ensuring that factual information remains accessible to counter misleading narratives and misinformation
