Accident – Search Intensifies After Two Delhi Youths Go Missing in Canal
Accident – A major search operation is underway in Delhi after two young men reportedly disappeared while bathing in the Bawana-Munak Canal on Sunday afternoon. Authorities have deployed multiple rescue teams to locate the missing individuals, while police continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Rescue Teams Conduct Extensive Search
According to officials, the missing youths have been identified as Satyam and Prashant, both residents of Prem Nagar in the Kirari area of Delhi. Initial information suggests that the two entered the canal for a bath during the afternoon but failed to return, prompting concern among people present nearby.
After receiving information about the incident, Delhi Police immediately coordinated with emergency response agencies and dispatched teams to the location. Personnel from the fire department and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) also joined the operation to assist in the search efforts.
No Trace Found Despite Overnight Efforts
Rescue teams continued searching the canal for several hours, extending the operation well into the night. Officials stated that extensive efforts were made across different sections of the water channel in an attempt to locate the missing youths.
Despite the large-scale operation, authorities were unable to find any trace of Satyam or Prashant by late Sunday night. Search activities resumed as officials remained focused on locating the pair and determining the exact sequence of events that led to their disappearance.
Investigation Continues Alongside Search Operation
Police have described the drowning as occurring under suspicious circumstances and have launched an investigation into the matter. Officers are gathering information from local residents and potential witnesses while reviewing all available details connected to the incident.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the exact cause of the disappearance. Investigators are expected to examine several aspects of the case as rescue operations continue in the canal area.
Separate Tragedy Reported in Madhya Pradesh
In another drowning-related incident reported earlier this month, four people lost their lives while spending time near the meeting point of the Sone and Banas rivers in Madhya Pradesh’s Sidhi district.
The incident took place in Sikarganj village, where a group had gathered for a picnic. Among the victims was a minor, according to police officials. Following the report, local authorities launched a rescue operation involving multiple teams.
Bodies Recovered After Two-Day Rescue Mission
The recovery effort in Sidhi continued for nearly two days. Rescue personnel managed to retrieve one body on the first day of the operation, while the remaining three victims were located and recovered the following afternoon.
Officials said the administration acted quickly after receiving information about the accident. The incident has once again highlighted the risks associated with entering rivers, canals, and other deep water bodies, particularly during recreational outings.
