Sai Karthik Varma, who had roots in Thummiganur village of Kosigi mandal in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district, was among the 12 people who lost their lives in the accident.

Fatal Crash Near Missouri Airport
According to officials, the tragedy occurred shortly after a Pacific Aerospace P750XL aircraft took off from Butler Memorial Airport in Missouri on Sunday. The aircraft was carrying one pilot and 11 skydivers when it crashed moments after departure. Authorities confirmed that all 12 people on board died in the incident.
Emergency responders reached the crash site soon after the accident, but there were no survivors. The circumstances that led to the crash remain under investigation.
Federal Agencies Begin Investigation
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have launched a detailed inquiry to determine the cause of the accident. Investigators are expected to examine flight records, aircraft maintenance history, weather conditions, and other factors that may have contributed to the crash.
Officials have not yet released a final report, and the investigation is likely to continue for several months before definitive conclusions are reached.
Journey From Andhra Pradesh to the United States
Karthik Varma was the son of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Subrahmanyam Raju. While the family originally belonged to Bhimavaram in West Godavari district, they had been residing in Thummiganur for nearly three decades.
Known among relatives and friends as a bright and dedicated student, Karthik pursued higher education in the United States. He completed his studies at the University of Central Missouri and later secured employment as a software engineer in Kansas.
His professional achievements had made him a source of pride for family members and residents of his native village.

News of the accident spread quickly through Thummiganur and surrounding areas, leaving residents shocked. Family members, friends, and local leaders expressed grief over the sudden loss of a young professional whose future appeared promising.
People familiar with the family recalled Karthik’s academic success and his efforts to build a career abroad. Condolence messages have continued to pour in from both India and the United States.
Efforts Underway to Bring Mortal Remains Home
Officials said the Andhra Pradesh government is working closely with the Indian Embassy in the United States and local American authorities to facilitate the return of Karthik Varma’s mortal remains.
The repatriation process involves several formal procedures, including identification, documentation, and clearance requirements. Once these steps are completed, arrangements will be made to transport the body to India so that the family can perform the final rites.
As investigators continue to examine the cause of the crash, Karthik Varma’s death has become a deeply felt loss for both his family and the community that watched him rise from a small village to a successful career in the United States
