Review of Governance and Public Services

On Tuesday, Chief Minister Manik Saha chaired a meeting of the Task Monitoring System through video conferencing, bringing together senior officials from across Tripura. The discussions centered on key areas including law and order, healthcare facilities, infrastructure projects, and other public welfare matters affecting residents throughout the state.

During the review, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of delivering government services more efficiently. He emphasized the need for faster implementation of welfare measures while ensuring transparency and accountability at every level of administration. Officials also examined strategies to improve coordination among departments and streamline public service delivery.

Officials Present Updates on Development Work

The virtual meeting was attended by District Magistrates, Superintendents of Police, departmental secretaries, and other senior officers representing different districts. Participants provided updates on ongoing development projects, administrative activities, and challenges being addressed in their respective regions.

The review also focused on monitoring the progress of various government programmes. Officials discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between departments so that public services can reach beneficiaries without unnecessary delays. The Chief Minister urged all agencies to maintain a citizen-centric approach while implementing development initiatives.

Focus on Education and Women’s Empowerment

A day earlier, while addressing a bicycle distribution programme for Class IX students at Shishu Bihar School in Agartala, Saha highlighted the state’s efforts to reduce school dropout rates. He noted that the number of students leaving school before completing their education has fallen considerably in recent years.

The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to encouraging girls’ education and supporting women’s advancement. Referring to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that national progress is closely linked to the development and empowerment of women, who make up a significant portion of the country’s population.

Bicycle Distribution Programme for Students

Speaking at the event, Saha announced that approximately 41,800 bicycles are being distributed to students studying in different schools across Tripura during the current year. The main distribution programme was organized at Shishu Bihar School in the state capital.

According to the Chief Minister, the initiative is designed to help students travel to school more conveniently and arrive on time for classes. He said the programme is expected to encourage greater participation in education, particularly among girls, by making access to schools easier.

Saha added that the School Education Department intends to continue such initiatives in the future as part of broader efforts to strengthen educational opportunities throughout the state.

Decline in Dropout Rates Seen as Positive Sign

The Chief Minister described the reduction in dropout numbers as an encouraging development for Tripura’s education sector. He said educating girls has benefits that extend beyond individual students, contributing to the well-being and progress of families and communities.

According to Saha, improved access to quality education can play a vital role in social and economic development. He said that when girls receive proper educational opportunities, the positive impact is reflected in the growth of society, the state, and the nation as a whole.
