FamilyTragedy – Gurugram Family’s Final Loss After Deadly Delhi Guesthouse Fire
FamilyTragedy – A heartbreaking chapter came to a close on Tuesday when 78-year-old Radhe Shyam Aggarwal, the sole surviving member of a Gurugram family devastated by a fatal fire in South Delhi earlier this month, died while receiving treatment at a private hospital in the city. His passing marks the end of a tragedy that claimed the lives of his closest family members who had come together in Delhi to support him during a serious medical condition.

Death During Ongoing Medical Care
Aggarwal had been undergoing treatment for a severe lung-related illness at Max Hospital in Saket since May. According to hospital sources, he remained in intensive care and was dependent on ventilator support throughout much of his treatment. He died at approximately 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday.
His death occurred just days after a devastating fire claimed the lives of eight relatives who had travelled to Delhi to stay near the hospital while he battled his illness.
Family Gathered to Support Elderly Relative
The family had arranged accommodation at Flourish Stays, a bed-and-breakfast property located close to the hospital. Their intention was to remain nearby so they could assist and support Aggarwal during his treatment and recovery.
What was meant to be a temporary stay for family care soon turned into an unimaginable tragedy that shocked local residents and left many struggling to process the scale of the loss.
Deadly Fire Broke Out on June 3
In the early hours of June 3, a fire erupted at the guesthouse where the family members were staying. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but eight people lost their lives in the incident.
The victims included Aggarwal’s son, Vivek Aggarwal, and daughter-in-law, Tarjani Aggarwal. Also among those killed were the couple’s daughters, Jeevisha and Variya, whose deaths added to the immense grief experienced by those connected to the family.
Multiple Generations Lost in the Incident
The fire also claimed the life of Aggarwal’s wife, Premlata Aggarwal, making the tragedy even more devastating for the family. Other victims included Vivek Aggarwal’s maternal uncle, Ashok Goyal.
Additionally, Premlata’s sister, Kamla, and her husband, Javri Lal, were among those who died in the blaze. The incident wiped out nearly the entire extended family that had gathered in Delhi for a common purpose — to stand beside an ailing loved one.
Community Continues to Mourn
Residents and people familiar with the family have described the incident as one of the most painful losses witnessed in recent years. A journey undertaken with hope and concern for an elderly family member ultimately ended with the loss of every relative who had come to support him.
With Radhe Shyam Aggarwal’s death, the family’s tragic story has reached a sorrowful conclusion. The incident remains a stark reminder of how a single unforeseen disaster can forever alter the lives of entire families and communities.
