Investigation – The Punjab Police have stepped up their investigation into the grenade explosion reported at a private hospital in Kalanaur after arresting a suspect believed to be directly linked to the incident. Officials confirmed that the case has also revealed a possible international connection, prompting a wider inquiry into the matter.
Senior Superintendent of Police Aditya Sharma stated on Wednesday that law enforcement agencies acted swiftly after receiving information about the blast. Initial assessments conducted by local police officers and forensic experts established that a grenade was used in the attack.
Arrest Made Following Detailed Investigation
According to police officials, information regarding the explosion at Multani Hospital was received at approximately 3:00 PM. Soon after, the Station House Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police reached the location to examine the scene and gather preliminary evidence.
The forensic team later completed a scientific examination and confirmed that the explosion was caused by a grenade. Based on evidence collected during the investigation, police arrested Dharmendra, a resident of Agwan village in Tarn Taran district.
Authorities described the arrest as a significant development in the case, achieved through coordinated efforts involving multiple investigative teams.
Joint Operation Led to Suspect’s Capture
Police officials revealed that a special operation was launched immediately after the incident. Several teams from Punjab Police worked alongside the Counter-Intelligence Wing to identify those involved.
