Politics – Rajasthan Political Row Deepens After Remarks at Bhairana Gathering
Politics – Regional political tensions in Rajasthan have escalated after controversial comments made by Rashtriya Loktantrik Party leader and Nagaur MP Hanuman Beniwal against Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and several ministers in the state government triggered a strong backlash from the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Government Response and Political Reactions
Election updates and Rajasthan political developments – The latest political controversy in Rajasthan has intensified after senior BJP leaders publicly criticised statements made by Hanuman Beniwal during a public gathering connected to an agitation against a proposed industrial project in Jaipur district.
The issue gained attention after a video clip from the event began circulating widely on social media platforms. In the footage, Beniwal was allegedly heard using objectionable language while referring to the Chief Minister and members of the state Cabinet. The remarks immediately drew criticism from BJP leaders, who described the language as inappropriate for a public representative.
Minister of State for Home Affairs Jawahar Singh Bedham condemned the comments and said public figures are expected to maintain dignity while addressing political opponents. He stated that parliamentary representatives hold constitutional responsibilities and should exercise restraint during speeches and public interactions.
Bedham further questioned the tone and nature of the remarks, saying many people across Rajasthan were surprised by the language used during the gathering. He added that political disagreements should not cross the limits of public decency and respectful conduct.
Debate Over Political Language
The controversy soon expanded as BJP State President Madan Rathore also reacted sharply to the statements. Calling the remarks regrettable, Rathore said democracy allows criticism and political opposition, but personal attacks and insulting language weaken healthy political dialogue.
He stressed that leaders should focus on issues affecting citizens instead of creating unnecessary controversy through provocative statements. Rathore also appealed to media organisations to avoid amplifying inflammatory remarks purely for attracting public attention or improving television ratings.
BJP Chief Spokesperson Ramlal Sharma joined the criticism and accused the RLP leader of indulging in political opportunism. Sharma argued that the statements reflected disrespect toward constitutional institutions and senior elected representatives. He also claimed the public was closely observing the manner in which political leaders were addressing each other during rallies and protests.
Mahapanchayat Linked to RIICO Protest
The political dispute emerged during a Mahapanchayat organised as part of the ongoing “Remove RIICO, Save Bhairana Dham” movement. Local residents and supporters of the agitation have been opposing a proposed RIICO industrial zone planned in the Bichoon area.
Hanuman Beniwal attended the gathering held in Bhairana village, where he criticised the Rajasthan government over the proposed project. During his speech, he accused the BJP administration of ignoring the concerns of saints, local communities and religious institutions despite repeatedly projecting itself as a supporter of Sanatan traditions and cultural heritage.
Beniwal described the proposed industrial zone decision as poorly planned and argued that the project should be relocated to another area. He also demanded official recognition for Dadu Palka as a religious tourism destination, saying the site holds spiritual importance for devotees and visitors.
Fresh Confrontation Between BJP and RLP
The latest exchange has once again highlighted the growing political rivalry between the BJP and the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party in Rajasthan. Leaders from both parties have continued to defend their positions while criticising each other’s political conduct.
Political observers believe the controversy may further sharpen the atmosphere ahead of future political campaigns and public movements in the state. At present, the issue remains at the centre of political debate, with reactions continuing from leaders across different parties.
