SummerCamps – Delhi-NCR Summer Camps Help Children Learn Beyond Classrooms

SummerCamps – With temperatures soaring across Delhi-NCR and outdoor activities becoming difficult, summer camps across the region emerged as vibrant spaces where children explored creativity, teamwork and practical learning in a safe indoor environment.

As schools remained closed for summer vacations, many parents enrolled their children in activity-based programmes designed to keep them engaged and socially active. From theatre workshops and dance training to entrepreneurship lessons and science-based experiments, camps this year focused heavily on skill development beyond academics.

Theatre and Dance Sessions Build Confidence

At a performing arts studio in Vikaspuri, children spent several weeks participating in theatre games, dance practice and stage performances. The sessions encouraged students to overcome hesitation and express themselves confidently in front of audiences.

Organisers at the studio said many participants initially struggled with stage fear, but gradually became more comfortable through regular rehearsals and interactive exercises. By the end of the programme, several children confidently performed under stage lights during live presentations attended by parents and families.

Parents noted that such activities helped children improve communication skills while also reducing excessive screen time during vacations.

Young Entrepreneurs Explore Startup Ideas

Across Delhi, teenagers attending the “Young CEO Programme” organised by Think Startups were introduced to entrepreneurship and business planning. Participants worked in groups to discuss practical business ideas, identify real-world challenges and prepare startup presentations.

The programme aimed to familiarise students with leadership skills, teamwork and problem-solving through structured sessions and mentoring activities. Organisers said there has been growing interest among teenagers in learning about startups and innovation at an early stage.

Students participating in the camp also took part in discussions focused on creativity, communication and strategic thinking, offering them exposure to concepts generally introduced much later in academic life.

Science and Technology Camps Attract Younger Children

At Rancho Labs located within IIT Delhi, younger children engaged in hands-on science and engineering activities developed by alumni from the institute. Participants assembled model motorcars, explored machine mechanics and carried out interactive experiments designed to simplify technical concepts.

The workshops encouraged children to learn through practical application instead of textbook methods. Organisers explained that activity-based learning helps improve curiosity and keeps children interested in science and technology from an early age.

Many parents appreciated the practical format of these programmes, saying children remained enthusiastic throughout the sessions while learning new concepts in an enjoyable environment.

Malls and Institutes Introduce Creative Programmes

In Gurugram, the “We Love Summer” camp at Ambience Mall featured a mix of storytelling sessions, STEM learning activities, sports and theatre-based games. Children participated enthusiastically in creative workshops, including block-building exercises and group activities aimed at improving interaction skills.

Meanwhile, teenagers attending NIFT Delhi’s “Design Lab 2026” explored textile printing, knitting techniques and sustainable fashion concepts through interactive sessions. The programme focused on creativity, innovation and design-based learning for students interested in fashion and art-related fields.

Organisers said modern summer camps are evolving rapidly as parents increasingly look for programmes that combine education with creativity and social development.

Parents See Summer Camps as Valuable Learning Spaces

Parents across Delhi-NCR said summer camps have become an important part of vacation schedules, especially during extreme weather conditions that limit outdoor activities. Many believe such programmes help children remain physically and mentally active while also encouraging interaction with peers.

Experts associated with child development activities said camps today are no longer limited to entertainment alone. Instead, they are increasingly being designed to support confidence-building, communication skills and practical learning experiences that complement classroom education.
