Government Invites Public Suggestions
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday appealed to residents to actively participate in shaping the framework of the campaign. According to the government, dedicated collection centres will soon be established across different parts of Delhi to allow citizens to deposit old or broken idols in a dignified manner instead of leaving them in open areas.
The chief minister pointed out that idols worshipped in households for several years are often discarded near roadside locations, parks, riverbanks, and beneath peepal trees once they become damaged.
