Crime – Delhi Murder Case Reveals Disturbing Background of Accused Man
Crime – A chilling case from southeast Delhi has taken a deeper turn as investigators uncover troubling details about the main accused, Rahul Meena, in the killing of a 22-year-old woman in the Kailash Hills area. Authorities are continuing their probe, with plans to reconstruct the crime scene to better understand the sequence of events where surveillance footage is unavailable.

Investigation Focus Shifts to Crime Scene Reconstruction
Police officials indicated that teams may revisit the residence to recreate the incident, especially in areas not covered by CCTV cameras. This exercise is expected to provide clarity on how the accused moved within the house and carried out the crime. Senior officers, including the Deputy Commissioner of Police for the southeast district, have already visited the location as part of the ongoing inquiry.
Troubling Behavioral Patterns Surface
Sources involved in the investigation described Meena as someone with a history of aggressive conduct. His behavior has raised concerns among investigators, who now plan to conduct a comprehensive psychological evaluation. Officials believe understanding his mental state could play a key role in establishing motive and intent.
Further details suggest that Meena struggled with compulsive habits, particularly online betting and card games. Over recent months, he reportedly lost a substantial amount of money, exceeding Rs 7 lakh. This financial strain allegedly led him to repeatedly borrow funds, deepening his instability.
Employment History Linked to Access
Investigators revealed that Meena had previously worked at the victim’s residence as a domestic helper. However, he was dismissed after allegations of financial irregularities. Despite his removal, his familiarity with the house layout and entry points appears to have played a crucial role in how he gained access on the day of the crime.
Details of the Incident Emerge
According to police findings, the accused entered the home and went directly to a rooftop study room where the young woman was studying. He is alleged to have attacked her using a heavy object, followed by sexual assault, and later strangulation. The victim, an engineering graduate preparing for competitive examinations, was found with multiple injuries, indicating a violent struggle.
The post-mortem report confirmed that strangulation was the primary cause of death. Additional injuries, including a fractured nasal bone, supported the theory that the victim resisted the attack.
Escape Attempt and Arrest
After committing the crime, Meena reportedly changed his clothes and footwear before leaving the scene. He then made his way to Palam Railway Station, intending to board a train to Rewari in Haryana. When he could not secure passage, he checked into a hotel in Dwarka. Police later tracked him down and arrested him from there.
During the arrest, officers recovered more than Rs 1 lakh in cash along with jewellery believed to have been taken from the victim’s residence.
Possible Links to Another Crime
In a significant development, investigators are also examining Meena’s possible involvement in a separate case reported in Rajasthan’s Alwar just hours before the Delhi incident. This angle is being probed to determine whether there is a pattern of criminal behavior extending beyond a single location.
Authorities continue to gather evidence and piece together the timeline, with further updates expected as the investigation progresses.
