RoadAccident – Speeding Bolero Overturns After Hitting Cyclist, Five Injured
RoadAccident – A serious road accident on Friday left five people injured after a speeding Bolero vehicle lost control, struck a cyclist, and overturned into a roadside ditch. The incident took place near Gayaspur village, creating panic among nearby residents who rushed to assist the victims.

Collision Near Gayaspur Leaves Several Injured
According to local accounts, the accident occurred when Amarjeet, a resident of Gayaspur, was cycling to his workplace at BHEL. At the same time, a Bolero driven by Chand Babu, a resident of Khara, was approaching from the Raniganj side. Witnesses said the vehicle appeared to be moving at high speed before the driver lost control and crashed into the cyclist.
The impact was severe enough to completely damage the bicycle. Moments later, the vehicle overturned into a ditch along the roadside. Passengers inside the vehicle, including women and children, sustained injuries along with the cyclist.
Villagers Lead Immediate Rescue Efforts
Hearing the loud crash, villagers quickly gathered at the scene and began rescue efforts without waiting for emergency services. Injured individuals were carefully pulled out of the overturned vehicle and transported to the nearest Community Health Center.
Medical staff at the facility provided initial treatment to all victims. However, three individuals—identified as Amarjeet, Chand Babu, and Aisha—were found to be in critical condition. Due to the seriousness of their injuries, they were referred to the District Hospital for further medical care.
Two Victims Discharged After First Aid
Doctors confirmed that two other injured passengers, Imran and Nazmeen, received minor injuries. After being treated with first aid, both were discharged and allowed to return home.
Hospital officials stated that timely intervention by local residents played a crucial role in ensuring that the injured received medical attention quickly, which may have prevented the situation from worsening.
Police Begin Preliminary Investigation
Soon after receiving information about the incident, local police reached the accident site. Authorities took possession of the damaged Bolero and the broken bicycle as part of the investigation process.
Station House Officer Vivek Verma stated that further legal action would be initiated once a formal complaint is filed. He added that the circumstances leading to the accident, including the speed of the vehicle and driver control, would be thoroughly examined.
Pilgrimage Trip Turns Risky on Return Journey
Preliminary information suggests that Chand Babu had traveled with his family to Dewa Sharif in Barabanki a day earlier for a धार्मिक visit. The group included several women and children, making up a total of around a dozen passengers in the vehicle.
The accident occurred while they were returning from the shrine on Friday. Authorities noted that overcrowding and possible speeding could be factors under review, although no official confirmation has been made yet.
Major Casualties Averted Despite Severe Impact
Despite the intensity of the crash and the vehicle overturning, no fatalities were reported. Officials and local residents alike described it as a narrow escape, as the situation could have turned far more serious given the number of passengers involved.
Road safety experts often highlight that such incidents underline the importance of controlled driving, adherence to speed limits, and proper vehicle handling—especially on rural roads where unexpected obstacles can arise.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are expected to release more details after gathering statements and technical findings related to the accident.
