Police Trap Leads to Late-Night Encounter

According to police officials, the two accused had been evading arrest for nearly a month after the businessman was shot dead in Bawana. Investigators had been tracking their movements since the incident and received specific intelligence that the suspects would pass through the Rohini area.

Based on this information, a police team set up a surveillance operation and laid a trap to intercept them. When officers tried to stop the suspects, who were travelling on a motorcycle, the men allegedly opened fire at the police personnel.

The police team responded immediately, resulting in a brief but intense exchange of gunfire. Authorities said around eleven rounds were fired from both sides during the confrontation.

Both Suspects Injured and Taken Into Custody

During the encounter, the two men sustained bullet injuries in their legs. Police officers managed to overpower them and bring the situation under control without any injury to the police personnel.

The suspects were later shifted to a hospital for medical treatment before being formally arrested.

Investigators identified the two accused as Mohammad Irfan and Aishwarya Pandey. Police said a pistol, several live cartridges and the motorcycle used by the suspects were recovered from their possession.

Possible Links to Overseas Gangsters

Initial findings from the investigation suggest that the killing of the businessman may be connected to foreign-based gangsters Randeep Malik and Anil Pandit. Authorities said the murder had earlier been claimed through a message circulated on social media.

Police officials are now examining whether the accused had direct links with the gangsters or were acting on their instructions. Investigators are also reviewing digital evidence and communication records that may help establish the chain of events leading to the murder.

Officials stated that the accused are currently being questioned to determine the broader conspiracy behind the crime and to identify other individuals who may have been involved in planning or executing the attack.

Separate Development in Uttam Nagar Murder Case

In another development, Delhi Police reported the arrest of several additional suspects in connection with the ongoing investigation into the Uttam Nagar murder case.

Authorities confirmed that seven more individuals wanted in the case were arrested on Monday, while a 14-year-old minor was also taken into custody. Police said the group had been absconding since the incident and was tracked down to the Khyala area of Delhi.

Police Identify Arrested Individuals

The arrested individuals have been identified as Sayra, also known as Kali, 40, wife of Ramzan; Sarifan, 50, wife of Gaffar; Salma, 36, wife of Jumadeen; Suhail, also known as Sahil, 21, son of Imamuddheen; Sameer Chauhan, 20, son of Mushtaq; Firoj, 22, son of Gaffar; and Ismile, 50, son of Gani Khan. All of them are residents of Uttam Nagar.

Police officials confirmed that a 14-year-old minor from the same locality was also apprehended as part of the investigation.

Authorities said the suspects will be questioned further to understand their roles in the incident and to gather additional evidence related to the case.

Investigation Continues

Delhi Police said both cases remain under active investigation. Officers are examining witness statements, digital records and other evidence to establish the sequence of events and determine whether additional suspects were involved.

Officials added that efforts are ongoing to uncover the larger criminal network, if any, connected to the Bawana businessman’s killing and the Uttam Nagar murder case.
