Fuel distribution across Andhra Pradesh showed clear signs of recovery on Tuesday, with most districts reporting normal supply levels. Authorities confirmed that only a few isolated urban and rural pockets continued to experience minor shortages, while the broader situation had largely stabilised.
Officials Intensify Monitoring of Supply Chain
Senior officials stated that district administrations have taken active steps to restore balance in fuel distribution. District collectors and police superintendents have been closely supervising operations, ensuring that hoarding is prevented and supply gaps are quickly addressed.
Efforts have been made to curb bulk purchases that had earlier strained availability. Authorities expect the remaining shortages to be resolved swiftly, with officials aiming for complete normalisation within a short timeframe.
Minister Reviews Situation Through Teleconference
Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar conducted a detailed review of the situation through a teleconference involving senior officials, district collectors, and representatives from oil companies. The discussion focused on identifying bottlenecks and ensuring smooth fuel movement across the state.
During the review, the minister highlighted complaints received via the public helpline. According to him, some fuel stations were reportedly denying availability despite having sufficient stock. He instructed officials to take strict action against such practices to ensure transparency and fairness.
Focus on Farmers and Essential Sectors
The minister stressed that farmers must not face any disruption in fuel supply, especially those involved in aquaculture and ongoing rabi harvest activities. He underlined that uninterrupted fuel access is crucial for agricultural operations during this period.
Officials were asked to prioritise supply to essential sectors and ensure that distribution remains equitable across regions. Measures such as controlled rationing at fuel stations have already contributed to reducing shortages.
Rationing Measures Show Positive Impact
Authorities noted that temporary rationing at petrol pumps has helped manage demand effectively. As a result, instances of fuel stations running dry have declined steadily over the past few days.
The government has advised continued vigilance until the situation is fully stable. Civil Supplies Commissioner K Kanna Babu also participated in the review and shared updates on supply logistics and ground-level implementation.
Chief Minister Directs Continued Oversight
Earlier, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu held a separate teleconference from Visakhapatnam with officials and oil company representatives to assess progress. He was informed that supply operations had been accelerated overnight, with a large number of fuel loads dispatched early Tuesday morning.
Between midnight and 6 a.m., a significant volume of petrol and diesel was distributed across various outlets, helping ease pressure on supply chains. The Chief Minister instructed officials to maintain close monitoring until queues at fuel stations disappear entirely.
Additional Measures to Prevent Congestion
To avoid crowding at fuel stations, the Chief Minister suggested implementing token or time-slot systems if required. Such measures could help regulate demand and ensure smoother service for consumers.
He reiterated that consistent and uninterrupted supply must be maintained until the situation returns completely to normal. Officials have been directed to remain alert and responsive to any emerging issues.
