According to local accounts, Bimalendu Singharoy, a Member of the Legislative Assembly representing the Karimpur constituency and affiliated with the Trinamool Congress, was involved in an altercation with students in Baliadanga village under Murutia police station limits. The episode reportedly unfolded late Sunday evening as several students were cycling back home after attending private tuition classes.
Witnesses claimed that the legislator’s vehicle approached the narrow road from behind and sounded its horn repeatedly. When the students allegedly failed to immediately clear the way, tempers reportedly flared.
