Budget2026- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday described the Union Budget for 2026–27 as a milestone document that captures the ambitions of a confident nation, with a strong emphasis on women-led development and the future of India’s youth.

Addressing the broader impact of the Budget, the Prime Minister said it mirrors the hopes of nearly 140 crore citizens and strengthens India’s long-term reform journey. According to him, the financial blueprint lays out a clear and determined path toward achieving the goal of a developed India by 2047. He added that the Budget opens vast avenues of opportunity, meeting present-day aspirations while building a durable foundation for generations to come.
Budget Linked to Vision of Viksit Bharat
Modi underlined that the Union Budget 2026–27 serves as a cornerstone in India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation. He noted that it injects renewed momentum into the reform process, helping the economy move faster and with greater clarity. The Prime Minister said the country’s ongoing reform efforts would receive fresh energy through this Budget, enabling sustained and balanced growth over the coming decades.
He further remarked that the policies outlined in the Budget aim to accelerate progress and ensure that India remains firmly on track to achieve its long-term national objectives by the time the country marks 100 years of independence.
Focus on Reforms and Governance
Highlighting the economic philosophy behind the Budget, Modi said it reflects the principles of trust-based governance and places people at the center of policy-making. He described it as a balanced financial plan that works to reduce the fiscal deficit and manage inflation without compromising on capital expenditure or economic expansion.

Ambition to Become a Global Economic Leader
Modi pointed out that India’s ambitions extend beyond being the world’s fastest-growing economy. Among the key highlights, the Prime Minister praised provisions for seven high-speed rail corridors, expanded infrastructure development, and targeted support for tier-2 and tier-3 cities.
