Miley Cyrus : approached filmmakers at the 2025 Oscars to showcase her songwriting abilities
Miley Cyrus: a singer-songwriter, is very certain of her ability to hustle. After telling director James Cameron that she was willing, the 33-year-old singer ended up creating the credits song “Dream As One” for the movie “Avatar: Fire and Ash.”

According to “People” magazine, Cyrus recalls meeting the Avatar director at the 2024 D23 Expo, when she and Cameron were recognized as Disney Legends.
“I kind of throw it out there as I always do,” she said to “People.” “So what have you been up to?” was a question I already knew the answer to. I am aware that he has been interested in Avatar for a very long time.
She added, “Just lemme know if you ever need any music,” as a particular greeting for him.
According to “People,” she remembered that it coincided with the creation of the third of five Avatar movies. “It just kind of happened naturally,” she added. In fact, James refers to us as “Legends in law.”
The Golden Globe-nominated song “Beautiful That Way,” which Cyrus wrote for Gia Coppola’s Pamela Anderson-starring The Last Showgirl last year, turns out to have been written using a similar approach.
“I did the same thing to (Last Showgirl star) Jamie Lee Curtis,” she said. I did “Last Showgirl” and am now a member of “Avatar” as a result.
Is providing directors with original music her tried-and-true way to become involved in movies? “No, really, that’s the reason I attended the Oscars this year,” she said. “Well, if you need any music, I’m around,” I said to each person who stood up and introduced themselves.
“I don’t know what I would write for Baby Reindeer season two, but I threw that out there,” she remarked, referring to the makers of the Emmy-winning Netflix series Baby Reindeer.
