Shilpa clarified her stance in a statement, stating that she had no participation in the company’s operations, finances, decision-making procedures, or signing power and that her affiliation with it was entirely non-executive in nature.

“I am deeply saddened by the baseless attempt to link my name to this matter,” she stated in a statement. I had no involvement in the company’s operations, finances, decision-making, or signing power; my affiliation with it was entirely non-executive.

The performer said that, in a strictly professional role, she had promoted several things for the home shopping channel, just like a number of other well-known people.

She continued by explaining that her family had lent the business Rs. 20 crore, which is still outstanding.

As she stated in the statement, “I want to put it on record that we as a family have loaned the company nearly 20 Cr rupees, and the said amount remains unpaid. In fact, like several other public figures, I had endorsed certain products for the home shopping channel, in a professional capacity, for which payments due to me remain outstanding.”

Shilpa described the effort to hold her criminally liable as “mischievous,” saying: “The mischievous attempt to impute criminal liability on me, particularly after an unexplained delay of nearly nine years is legally unsustainable and contrary to settled principles of law.”

Shilpa emphasized the human cost of such accusations, saying that baseless accusations unjustly damage a woman’s character in the public eye in addition to misrepresenting facts.

“My name is still being brought up in the proceedings needlessly in spite of these facts, which is upsetting and unwarranted. In addition to distorting the truth, such baseless accusations cause a woman’s honor, integrity, and reputation to be unjustly violated in public.

“As stated in the Bhagavad Gita, failing to oppose injustice when it is your duty, is itself Adharma,” she said.

The actor stated: “I have full faith in the judicial process and will be seeking appropriate legal remedies to protect my rights and reputation,” adding that a “quashing petition” has already been filed before the Bombay High Court. I humbly ask that the media pay attention to these facts and report properly by confirming the accuracy of the information.
