TempleIncident – Police Launch Probe After Complaint at Nauchandi Fair Venue
TempleIncident – A police investigation has been initiated in Meerut after a complaint alleged that meat was prepared and consumed inside a temple complex during activities linked to the ongoing Nauchandi Fair. Authorities said the matter came to their attention following an alert received through the emergency response system, prompting immediate action by local law enforcement officials.

Complaint Received Through Emergency Helpline
According to police officials, information regarding the alleged incident was received on May 28 through the Dial 112 emergency service. The complaint stated that individuals associated with operating amusement rides within the fair area had reportedly cooked meat inside the temple premises situated under the jurisdiction of the Nauchandi Police Station.
Upon receiving the information, police personnel quickly reached the location to verify the claims and assess the situation. Officials stated that the complaint was formally recorded and that legal procedures were subsequently initiated.
Police Begin Legal Proceedings
Circle Officer Suchitra confirmed that authorities responded without delay after the report was received. She stated that a formal complaint has been filed and that steps are being taken to register a case under relevant legal provisions.
The officer explained that the police are examining all available evidence and gathering information from those connected to the incident. Officials have emphasized that any further action will depend on the findings of the ongoing investigation.
Investigation Continues
Law enforcement authorities confirmed that a case has been registered in connection with the complaint. Investigators are currently reviewing statements and collecting evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged activity inside the temple complex.
Police officials have maintained that the inquiry will be conducted according to legal procedures and that appropriate action will follow based on verified facts. Authorities have not disclosed additional details while the investigation remains underway.
Similar Temple Controversy Reported Earlier
The incident has drawn attention partly because a similar controversy surfaced earlier this year in Karnataka. In February, reports emerged that a bag containing meat had been discovered within the premises of the Anjaneya Swamy Temple located in the Nagalakeri area of Bellary district.
The discovery led to widespread concern among devotees and residents in the area. Following the reports, local police launched an investigation to identify those responsible and determine how the material was brought onto the temple grounds.
Community and Political Reactions in Karnataka Case
Following the Bellary incident, temple priests and representatives of several Hindu organizations called for strict legal action. They alleged that the act may have been intended to offend religious sentiments and urged authorities to conduct a thorough inquiry.
Political leaders also sought transparency in the investigation. BJP representatives requested a detailed probe into the matter, while local residents raised concerns about security measures at places of worship.
At the time, BJP district president Anil Naidu described the incident as the work of miscreants and stressed the need for accountability. The episode sparked discussions about strengthening surveillance and security arrangements at religious sites to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
Meanwhile, in Meerut, authorities continue to investigate the complaint linked to the Nauchandi Fair temple complex. Police have reiterated that conclusions will be drawn only after a complete examination of the evidence and circumstances connected to the case.
