Youth Described as the Nation’s Greatest Strength

Speaking to students and faculty members, Sharma said India possesses one of the world’s largest youth populations, making it a powerful force for national development. He stressed that lasting progress can only be achieved when young people actively participate in public life and community service. According to him, the future of the country is closely linked to the vision, discipline and determination of its younger generation.

During his address, Sharma also highlighted developments in Chhattisgarh, stating that the state has made significant progress in eliminating Maoist influence. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for providing strong leadership that helped strengthen security measures and improve stability in the region.

Commitment Matters More Than Financial Resources

Emphasising the importance of determination over material resources, Sharma shared examples from the early organisational journey of Amit Shah. He recalled that Shah began his work as an Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) activist in an unfamiliar area with only a modest amount of money but succeeded in building an effective network through consistent effort and dedication.

He also referred to an experience from Chhattisgarh, saying that organisational expansion there had started with limited financial support. According to Sharma, these examples demonstrate that success is built on perseverance, discipline and a willingness to work hard rather than on the availability of funds.

Encourages Direct Engagement With Society

Sharma advised students not to depend entirely on artificial intelligence tools and internet search platforms for understanding society. Instead, he urged them to interact directly with people, listen to their concerns and gain first-hand knowledge of the challenges faced by different communities.

He said genuine leadership develops through public engagement and service. Sharma further noted that politics should not be viewed as the responsibility of a select few but as an area where every citizen has a role to play. He added that honesty, dedication and public service are the qualities that help individuals earn respect and succeed in public life, rather than financial influence.

Tribute to Syama Prasad Mookerjee

The Deputy Chief Minister also paid tribute to Syama Prasad Mookerjee while marking the 75th anniversary of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh. He described nationalism as an important pillar of India’s growth and development and said the country’s progress should continue to be guided by values of unity and public service.

On the occasion, Sharma announced that a book written by BJP State Media In-charge Kilaru Dileep would soon be presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Several prominent personalities were present during the Youth Parliament programme. Among those attending were Additional Solicitor General Channa Dhananjay, Bar Council member Uppalapati Srinivas Raj, SRK College Chairman Krishna, senior BJP leader Piyush Desai and other invited guests.
