Education – Dharmendra Pradhan Reviews Modern Learning Facilities at Andhra Pradesh Model School
Education – Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan visited the PM SHRI AP Model School at Bhogapuram in Andhra Pradesh’s Vizianagaram district on Tuesday, where he reviewed the institution’s infrastructure and academic environment. He was accompanied by State Human Resource Development Minister Nara Lokesh and MSME and SERP Minister Kondapalli Srinivas during the inspection, which focused on evaluating facilities introduced to improve learning standards in government schools.

Inspection Highlights Modern School Infrastructure
During his visit, Pradhan toured several key sections of the campus, including digital classrooms, the library, the Atal Tinkering Lab, the Reverse Osmosis drinking water facility, and the school kitchen. The inspection aimed to assess how these resources are supporting students and contributing to a better educational experience.
Nara Lokesh explained the various learning assessment tools introduced by the School Education Department, including student progress reports and evaluation booklets. He also presented value education books prepared by noted scholar Chaganti Koteswara Rao, highlighting the government’s efforts to combine academic learning with moral education.
Student Welfare Measures Reviewed
The Union Minister also examined the Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Vidyarthi Mitra Kit provided to students by the Andhra Pradesh government. The kit includes textbooks, notebooks, workbooks, school uniforms, bags, shoes, belts, and socks, reflecting the state’s initiative to ensure students have access to essential educational materials.
Officials accompanying the visit explained that these welfare measures are intended to reduce the financial burden on families while encouraging regular attendance and improving learning outcomes in government schools.
Minister Appreciates Students and Teaching Standards
Pradhan spent time interacting with students, asking questions on different subjects to understand their learning levels. The students responded confidently and accurately, drawing appreciation from the Union Minister. He praised their enthusiasm, subject knowledge, and communication skills during the interaction.
Expressing satisfaction with the school’s overall performance, Pradhan commended the quality of teaching, classroom practices, and the infrastructure available on campus. He said the institution reflected the positive impact of ongoing efforts to improve public education in the state.
Andhra Pradesh’s Education Reforms Receive Recognition
Addressing those present, Pradhan appreciated the Andhra Pradesh government’s initiatives aimed at strengthening the government school system. He acknowledged the focus on upgrading educational infrastructure and expanding access to quality learning facilities for students studying in public institutions.
He observed that investments in modern classrooms, technology, and student support programmes could play an important role in improving educational standards and creating better learning opportunities across the state.
Uniform Kitchen Management Policy Under Preparation
Speaking during the programme, HRD Minister Nara Lokesh announced that the state government is preparing a comprehensive action plan to introduce a uniform policy for the management of school kitchens. The objective is to establish consistent operational standards across educational institutions.
He said the government intends to implement clear guidelines to ensure hygienic preparation and distribution of nutritious mid-day meals for students. According to him, maintaining food quality and safety remains a priority, and the proposed policy will help strengthen the overall school meal programme.
Lokesh also encouraged teachers and school administrators to continue their commitment towards improving educational standards and delivering quality learning experiences for students throughout the state.
The programme was attended by Vizianagaram District Collector S. Ramsundar Reddy, Samagra Siksha State Project Director B. Srinivasarao, Superintendent of Police A.R. Damodar, District Education Officer Manikyam, Vizianagaram MP Kalisetti Appalanaidu, Vizianagaram MLA Pusapati Aditi Vijayalakshmi, along with several other officials and public representatives.
