Trucks Engulfed in Flames After Collision

Police said one of the trucks was heading towards Bengaluru when it struck another truck that had been stopped on the highway. The impact sparked a fire, which quickly spread through both vehicles.

The occupants were unable to escape as the flames intensified, according to preliminary information from investigators. Traffic movement on the route was affected while rescue teams worked at the scene.

Victims Identified by Police

The deceased have been identified as Dharmapathi, Mekala Ravi and Ramesh. All three died at the accident site before they could be taken for medical treatment.

Police are working to establish further details about the victims, including their connection to the two vehicles and their places of residence. Authorities have not yet released additional information regarding the ownership of the trucks.

Motorists Alert Emergency Teams

People travelling on the highway informed the police and the Fire Services Department soon after the crash. Firefighters reached the location and began efforts to control the blaze, while police personnel secured the area and assisted with the rescue operation.

The fire was eventually brought under control, allowing officials to inspect the damaged vehicles and collect evidence. The accident caused temporary disruption for motorists using the highway.

Driver Fatigue Among Possible Causes

Initial findings indicate that driver fatigue or drowsiness may have contributed to the collision. Investigators are examining whether the moving truck driver lost alertness before the vehicle hit the stationary truck.

Police said the inquiry will also look into visibility conditions, the position of the parked truck, road safety measures and any possible mechanical issues. Statements from witnesses and available evidence from the site will form part of the investigation.

Case Registered for Further Investigation

A case has been registered by Prathipadu police, and further investigation is under way. Officials said the exact cause of the accident will be determined after the completion of the probe.

The incident has again highlighted the risks faced by long-distance truck drivers, particularly on busy national highways where fatigue, poor visibility and unsafe parking can lead to serious accidents.
