Demonstration Over Wage Demands Intensifies

A large gathering of factory workers from multiple industrial units assembled in Noida’s Phase-2 and Sector 60 areas to press for a long-awaited revision in wages. The demonstration, which began as a peaceful protest, soon turned aggressive as tensions rose among sections of the crowd. Protesters were seen raising slogans and expressing frustration over unresolved salary issues.

According to official accounts, some individuals within the gathering allegedly resorted to damaging public and private property. Incidents of stone-pelting were reported, and at least one vehicle was set on fire, creating panic in the surrounding areas.

Police Presence and Response Measures

Authorities responded quickly by deploying a significant police presence across the affected industrial regions under the Gautam Buddh Nagar Commissionerate. Senior police and administrative officials were present on-site to assess and manage the situation.

Police officials stated that the situation had been brought under control and was being closely monitored. Efforts were underway to engage with the protesting workers and encourage dialogue to restore calm. Officials emphasized that only minimal force was used to maintain order and prevent further escalation.

Residents and commuters were also urged not to believe unverified information or rumors circulating about the incident, with assurances that normal conditions were gradually being restored.

Security Tightened at Delhi Borders

Following the unrest in Noida, security measures were heightened along the Delhi border. Authorities reported that a considerable number of workers had gathered near border areas, raising concerns about potential spillover effects.

In response, security was reinforced at major entry points connecting Noida and Delhi. Police teams were stationed at key locations, and strict vehicle checks were carried out to ensure that no disruptive elements entered the national capital.

Senior officials confirmed that law enforcement agencies remained on high alert. Additional personnel, including rapid response units and paramilitary forces, were deployed to handle any unforeseen developments swiftly. Coordination between Delhi Police and Uttar Pradesh authorities was also strengthened to maintain control.

Traffic Chaos Leaves Commuters Stranded

The unrest had a significant impact on traffic movement, particularly along the Delhi-Noida border. Thousands of commuters faced severe delays as vehicles remained stuck in long queues during peak morning hours.

Key routes, including National Highway-9, witnessed heavy congestion, with traffic coming to a near standstill in several stretches. Office-goers and daily commuters were among the worst affected, with many stranded for extended periods.

Social media platforms saw a surge in posts from frustrated commuters seeking immediate intervention from authorities. Several individuals reported leaving home early to avoid rush-hour traffic, only to find themselves caught in prolonged gridlock.

One commuter shared that despite starting early in the morning, she remained stuck for over an hour with no movement in sight. Many people were seen stepping out of their vehicles to understand the situation ahead as uncertainty prevailed.

Efforts to Restore Normalcy

Officials stated that steps were being taken to clear traffic congestion and restore smooth vehicular movement as quickly as possible. Traffic personnel were deployed to manage diversions and ease pressure on affected routes.

Authorities also reiterated their commitment to maintaining law and order while addressing the concerns raised by workers. Continuous monitoring and coordinated efforts were being carried out to ensure that the situation remains stable and does not escalate further.
