Security – A high-security alert was briefly enforced across the Red Fort area in the national capital after authorities received information about a possible bomb threat. Following an extensive security operation, investigators confirmed that the warning was false, while efforts continue to identify the person responsible for making the call.
A security scare unfolded in Delhi after a bomb threat linked to the historic Red Fort prompted immediate action by law enforcement agencies. According to officials, the warning was first received by the Mumbai Police control room before being urgently communicated to their counterparts in Delhi. Considering the national importance of the monument, security agencies treated the information with utmost seriousness and activated emergency response protocols without delay.
Security Agencies Conduct Thorough Search
Soon after receiving the alert, the Delhi Police control room forwarded the information to the North District Police, which launched a coordinated search operation around the Red Fort premises. Police personnel, along with security teams, carried out detailed inspections of the monument and surrounding areas to rule out any potential danger.
Officials said every necessary precaution was taken during the operation to ensure the safety of visitors, staff, and nearby residents. The comprehensive search, however, did not uncover any suspicious object or explosive material.

Recent Hoax Incident Involving ISRO Headquarters
The latest incident follows another false bomb threat that recently targeted a high-security government installation. Earlier this month, Bengaluru Police took custody of a man from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, after he was intercepted by Delhi Police in connection with an email threatening an explosion at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Headquarters.
The threatening email had been received at ISRO’s Antariksha Bhavan on New BEL Road, prompting an immediate security inspection by police and bomb disposal personnel. The search operation found no explosives or suspicious materials at the premises.
Subsequent digital analysis and technical investigation helped officers trace the sender to Ghaziabad. During questioning and medical evaluation, police found that the accused was living with a mental illness. Investigators seized the electronic device allegedly used to send the email, and legal proceedings under the applicable provisions remain in progress.
Security experts note that while many such warnings ultimately prove to be false, authorities are required to respond swiftly to every threat to ensure public safety and prevent any potential risk to critical infrastructure and nationally significant locations.
